Saturday, 19th November 19, 2022, was a joyous day for Chief, Dr. Adetokunbo Ph.D. & Barr. Mrs. Aisat Fassy Yusuf, who gave their daughter, Dr. Habeebah Simisola Fassy Yusuf hand in marriage to Engr. Sulaiman Adewole-Ola Eyinfunjowo, son of Barr. Chief Abd. Rafiu Eyinfunjowo & Chief Mrs. Hassanat Eyinfunjowo. The events which consisted of the Engagement, Nikkah & Reception took place in Chief Fassy-Yusuf’s compound in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
It had Toyin Oseni Adeyemo; Remite Events & Ushers as its coordinator. Oluwamayomide Osifade decorated the compound with some nice designs, Chanan Cakes, Small Chops, and More alongside Karlous Drinks made the cake and drinks respectively. Yinkus Catering Services provided the food, while DJ Bigshill and Osibowale Stephen Seun (MC Dusuy) entertained the guests.
The event commenced around 11am with an opening prayer by Alfa Taosir of Ijebu followed by lovely entertainment by Mukadam Isa Ologun & his Bandiri drummers. Soon after was the arrival of both parents. This is followed by the arrival of the couples, firstly the groom with his entourage and later the bride with some of her friends. The introduction of the bride and the groom’s family was done with prayers for both families. Reading of intent letter from the groom’s family was read and accepted by the bride’s family. Speeches by both families were read and finally ended with the presentation of the acceptance of engagement items.
The wedding ceremony commenced by 14:12 pm with a prayer and recitation from the Holy Quran. During this, Wolimot Quran for Habeebah was held by Ustaz Abdullateef Shoyoye. Sermon on the essence of marriage, wedding solemnization, execution, and presentation of wedding certificate, which was done by Missioner El-Hadji Oridipe Mustapha. The wedding ended with an Islamic benediction and a closing prayer with a photo session.
During the course of the event, City People had a brief interview with Chief Adetokunbo Fassy Yusuf, Ph.D. on how excited he is seeing his daughter getting married and his wishes for them. He said: “Naturally, we feel happy, with a sense of fulfillment, much gratitude to me creator, the almighty God, and also am happy for the couple because it’s one of the things God says we should be doing in life, especially when we’ve grown to become an adult and we are in the position to have a family. So in the beginning it is to have a spouse that is blessed by the almighty God.
“They must allow God to reign supreme in their lives, they must be humble, they must be prayerful, they must live a trustworthy life, they must believe in each other, they must trust each other and they must do everything possible to sustain the certainty of the marriage,” he said.
Engr. Sulaiman Adewole-Ola Eyinfunjowo, the groom also expressed his happiness towards God for giving him the love of his life. “Today is the happiest day of my life. I’m happy, I’m delighted, if you put something in my heart, it will certainly be gliding smoothly. I met my wife in March this year, and I told God that this is my wife and He should bless her for me,” he said.
On their occupation and how many kids he would love to have, he said: “My wife is a lecturer, and am an engineer.” His wife, on her part, said: “We’d love to have four children, two boys and two girls, this is what I asked of Allah. You can ask him, we discussed it and agreed on having four kids and just like my facial expression speaks, I’m more than happy to be getting married to him because he is everything I wanted in a man,” said Dr. Habeebah Simisola Fassy Yusuf.
At exactly 3pm, the reception commenced, with the introduction of the chairman, Prof. Asiwaju Rahman AA Bello, and his wife, Yeye Asiwaju Bello. The Mc invited the parents of the couple to join the chairman with the praise songs (Oriki)/Panegyrics of the couple’s families. This is immediately followed by the cutting of the cake, the toast of the couple, goodwill messages, the presentation of gifts, and a musical interlude. The event ended with a special vote of thanks by the husband and a closing prayer.
It was a day to remember by Engr. Sulaiman Adewole-Ola & Dr. Habeebah Simisola Eyinfunjowo, because their wedding was graced by many dignitaries such as; HRM Oba Yinusa Adekoya; Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Anthony Alakija; Alakija of Ikija, Olorogun Dr. Sunny Kuku, Oba Engr. Muftao Kasali; Moyegeso of Itele, Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Chief Abimbola Okenla and HRH Oba Limeri of Awa.
Others are Maj. Gen. Abiodun Role, Chief Korade Olatunbosun, Chief S.F Olatunbosun, Chief I.D Bello, Hon. Abimbola Ayo Yusuf, Gina Ayodeji Osibogun and Alh. Agboola Alausa; Balogun of Ijebuland.
