Oluwafumilayo!!!!
Praise the Lord ….. Hallelujah!!!
It’s been 48 good years of knowing one another, we thank God for our mothers (now both late) that were friends and brought us together. The bond between us went beyond friendship and we became blood sisters.
I still remember when Regalia started at Oremeji Street Ilupeju … you have remained relentlessly hard working then as you are today.
Your appointment as the president of FADAN to say the least did not come as a surprise to me. I still remember when you landed an interior designing contract and got me involved in it. This made me see how versatile, creative and adaptable you were.
I thank God for where He brought you from, where you are now and the next level He’s taking you to.
You touch each life you enter, spreading joy to everyone you meet, may the love and happiness you share with others return to you a thousand fold.
Funmi dearest, God bless you and your beautiful day. He will continue to beautify your life and give you drink from the river of His pleasures.
Enjoy your day stylishly as you enter a new season of abundance, love, peace and joy in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Happy Birthday Funmi … we love you!!!
Mrs Kemi Raji (Lond).
Happy Birthday my dear sister. Every year, we close a chapter and begin a new one. Today you’re diamond and at midnight, you walk with grace into your golden age. Its an opportunity to celebrate all the incredible moments that define the last chapters and prepare for the adventures of the Golden age. While every chapter is special in its own right, chapter 60 marks the beginning of an exciting new journey, filled with opportunities and discoveries.
As you step into your golden age, I want to remind you of the past, most especially when we where little and our parents travelled to Canada leaving the two of us with grandma. That for me was when you became my very big sister and, truly, you have played that role to the fullest to date. You have been a big sister in all ways and also played the mother role to our younger ones, Tokunboh, Tope, Bose, Dolapo and Temilola. We all remain indebtedly grateful to you. You are a true testament of the word “sister”. An occurence that left an indelible note in my memory as when I was in college in Tuskegee, Labama.
after having not seen me for several years, you departed Nigerian search of our only brother. Though you had no clue where I was at that particular time, you were determined to find me and actually did. I will never forget that singular act which was brought about only by a sibling’s strong love and bond. Sis, words cannot describe the love and respect I have for you. Today I celebrate you and celebrate your wonderful career. I note with nostalgia your humble beginning as a fashion designer. You started your career with just one machine, but there came a time when you became a force to reckon with … when you were crowned the 1st Fashion Designer of the year. You became a household name, you went from one to over 50 machines and an enviable staff. You had and still have true passion for your calling. Now, big sis, you’ll agree with me that you have truly lived and continue to live a fulfilled life. Again, today is your diamond jubilee and the start of your golden years. I will cut your cake with you at 70, dance with you at 80, lay back and rejoice with you at 90, and we would have just started at 100.
God bless and keep you for us.
Hip Hip Hip Hurray!

TRIBUTE TO FUNMI AT 60
Funmi Ajila Ladipo (FAL), for short, a woman of substance, and an elegant fashion entrepreneur par excellence. Funmi has a large heart, hence has endeared a lot of us to her. As the President of Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN), she brought her expertise and passion to be in the running of the Association.
I dare say that at the end of her tenure as President of FADAN, the association was like an orphan, as she took her charisma and energy with her. This is who she is and will always be.
For Funmi that I know, life begins at 60.
Happy Birthday and God bless you.
Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa,
CEO of Lelook igeria Limited
Happy birthday to a great woman of substance, a true leader and a fashion designer extraordinaire with a great sense of style.
Without a doubt you have conquered the fashion and lifestyle space with your personality, and you have grown with style and God’s grace in all you do.
Thank you for setting the bar high at FADAN. The passion and drive with which you ran the association is very admirable, and your achievements will forever remain indelible.
As you celebrate your 60th birthday (I honestly think you’re still in your 40s though), may grace, mercy and showers of blessings from
God never seize in your life.
Wishing you a joyous and wonderful celebration, and many more beautiful years in perfect health.
Kolawole Kuddus Yusuf
President, Fashion Designers Association
of Nigeria (FADAN).
My darling daughter Funmi, we thank the Lord for granting you another year to share your creativity and talents with the world. I am so proud of your many endeavors and the contributions you have made in our community. You have demonstrated your leadership skills as the President of the Fashion Association of Nigeria, your dedication to the church as a member of the Choir at Redemption Pavilion Parish and your gifts as an artist through your innovative handbag and dress designs. You are a beacon on light and have brightened the world through your accomplishments.
I wish you a very Happy Birthday and am forever grateful to Mrs. Titi Kofi Annan for bringing you into my life. May the good Lord bestow upon you good health, peace, love and happiness.
With love Mommy Amina Ahmadu.
Funmi is an exceptionally beautiful lady. And her mind is even more lovely. I should know. I have known her and her family for some 30 years.
Her mother, who was my church warden at St Agnes Catholic Church in Maryland, was even prettier. Of Yoruba and Fulani descent, she used to avail me of her plates and glasses free during my parties in Ilupeju when I was single. The Ajilas were practically my neighbours.
Mrs Ajilla was the first person to market Badore to me, but I thought that the place was too far until my landlord, an otherwise excellent person, behaved like any other Lagos landlord on the insistent prompting of his family. I had less than one year to buy at least a plot and develop and move in.
No sooner I came over that I met Ruffy without connecting him to Funmi who was then in the United States, still the chemistry worked out between Ruffy and me at once. Ruffy is today a close brother and ally and confidant and Funmi my dear sister.
Julie and I felicitate with Funmi and Ruffy on this special occasion and join several others to say to them” ad multos annos”.

Funmi Ajila’s 60th birthday message is Life is like a journey through stitches, every stitch counts, every stitch matters, every stitch tells a story. What you stitch is what you get. No shortcut. So is life”…
