The prestigious City Hall in Lagos came alive on Thursday 23rd January 2020 when the popular FATIMA Charity foundation organized their Annual Prayer for the Nation 2020, with the theme “CHANGING NIGERIA’S DECADENCE TO DECENCY- COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY”.
Every road that leads to the venue was traffic-laden, as dignitaries from all walks of life came out en masse for this event.
In attendance was the wife of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat, Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State from 2011-2015, Mrs Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire, Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State from 2015-2019, Mrs Oluranti Adebule, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, the Elegushi of Ikate Land with his amiable wife, Oloori Sekinat Aramide, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo the Senior Pastor of Trinity House Church, prominent Imams and White cap chiefs.
Fatimah Charity foundation has been consistent with the Annual Prayer for the Nation for the past 9 years, and according to the founder of the foundation, Chief Bintu-Fatima Tinubu, the essence of the event is to pray to God “Calling on the almighty God is our priority and our primary assignment at Fatima Charity Foundation and that is why we do this every year and by the grace of God. God have been on our side. Without relenting on our effort, either doing it secretly or openly, it’s the same almighty God we are calling. That is why we always converge every January, not January alone; we do it privately but this one is national, so we pray that, the God we are calling will always answer our prayers”.
Special Prayers for the nation was conducted by some of the Imams after the recitation of the complete Quran. Prayer was said on behalf of the National Assembly, All States Governors and their Executives, Lagos State, All State House of Assembly and Fatima Charity Foundation.
