There is a new movie group rocking the movie industry. And the group is trending for many reasons. It is called “Afrimek” which is an acronym for “African Men Entertainment Kings”. It was inaugurated in September, 2022.
They already have 40 members, with star actor, Femi Adebayo as the Mayor. He emerged after an election. Their Motto is “Success For One, Success For All”.
Their inauguration ceremony recently took place at Radison Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos where other honourable members and Executives were unveiled. The event was also graced by notable stars in the entertainment industry.
What makes this group or club, as it is called by its members unique, is the calibre of guys in the club. They are the young male movers and shakers of the Yoruba movie industry. They are top rated young male producers, directors and A-list actors in the Yoruba movie industry. A good number of them are actually based abroad and equally doing exceptionally well in the Entertainment industry.
What makes this group different? One unique thing about this group is the fact that, the members are strictly young, creative minds doing exceptionally well in the industry, and within short period of inauguration, they have been involved in different activities.
For instance, during the festive period, they all had a picnic and included their wives in the outing, thereby creating time for couple bonding. They didn’t stop at that, they still reached out to fans on the street for the Christmas celebration, where they gave back to the society, through cash and gifts to different people.
Though, the members are strictly men, they also take it upon themselves to celebrate each other’s special days. They also promote each other’s production, and make sure it is successful. Take for example, they all stormed star actor Ijebu’s mother’s burial in grand style and added so much style to the event.
In the past few years, the Yoruba movie industry has witnessed the emergence of different groups. So far, none is as effective as Afrimek, and within a short while, they have done much and have also given back to the society. In the next few months, it is evident that the few big names remaining in the industry will definitely be a part of this group. They also have strict rules and regulations guiding the group, which all members abide to.
