It is no more news that Prophet Isreal Oladele Ogundipe, the founder of Genesis Global Church, last year was sentenced to 2-year imprisonment for allegedly defrauding an America-based woman.
The trial judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade, sentenced Prophet Oladele after she found him guilty of the 2-count charge out of the 7 he was charged with.
Ordinarily, many concluded the case would bring the church down and that he would lose his members. Despite all the drama surrounding the case and bad publicity. his church activities continued unabated and all his followers on social media remained very active.
His pretty wife, Adeshola Oladele Ogundipe, kept running the church successfully with some selected dedicated members, who have become family members to the man of God. She was able to handle and coordinate both the church and the home fronts successfully. Despite the prophet not being around, last year, the church had one of the best Annual Harvest Thanksgiving with guests from far and near.
On 19th December 2021, the church had its Annual Thanksgiving and the turnout of guests was massive and during the programme. she explained what she went through at that darkest moment of her life.
According to her, “Last year, during the same period, there were mixed feelings of JOY and expectations. During this moment, I, my family and the members of Genesis Global were in the phase of doing our best to ensure that we give our utmost supports to the Harvest of Good News.
It was during that moment God showed His might hands in the preparations of the harvest celebration. To the glory of God, last year’s harvest celebration was massive and successful as we record the highest numbers of guests.
It is within this context of reflection that we have every reason to thank God for His faithfulness.
Reflecting on these events, both the bitter and better experiences, the success of a prophet is incomplete without mentioning people who supported him during the journey of difficulties in his ministry.
The battles that confronted CCC Genesis Global, which affected the stakeholders too, were enough to destroy faint-hearted individuals, but God in His infinite mercy, made the ministry triumph over all negative judgments passed against it.
Despite this humiliating aspect of the events, God weighed in to silence devious and deadly mockers who were conspiring against him. The opportunities in his captivity give a glimpse of tough situations the prophet faced, but God showed mighty hands to suppress the ravaging battles.
If I gave the impression that these battles didn’t affect me, I was only trying to act on the assurance God gave me during that period. I had to walk on the bridge from overwhelming oppositions I was facing on assurance from God. The grace to cross the bridge gave me a massive edge over our enemies. My Joy is Intact was an inspiration that came to the minds of my husband and I.
I would implore everyone to keep holding on to God because He never fails.”
When the cloud of false judgments hovered over my household, I looked up to God for divine vindication. During that period, it was as if God had abandoned us, despite our services to humanity.
On that faithful day, I still remember the pains and shame I got from November 18th of 2020, it was a day I will never forget. We were busy celebrating our daughter’s first birthday and my husband was already at Ikeja High Court for impromptu final judgment. When he called me, he said he was on his way to Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
“The only assurance I could hear from his voice was “I promise I would be coming back and be celebrated.” He sounded so sure of this assurance as if he already knew what awaited him in the Den of Wilderness. At that point in time, I isolated myself, I also couldn’t relate with anyone at that moment because I needed to communicate with God.
“In my isolation, I heard from God, the message was of reassurance, it kept coming, “Our Joy is Intact.” Despite this message of reassurance, and while I was busy taking care of the people my husband left with me, I had mixed feelings of having to carry the weight of burden from the challenges that were strongly weighing on me and hit me very hard, at the same time assuring myself of God’s promises regarding this assignment.
It’s only God who gives joy.
“Amidst these overwhelming temptations, God found His ways through my heart to calm and gladden me. Psalm 30:5 “ ••• Weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes with the morning”. This Bible’s verse gave me the assurance of enduring the pains because I knew I would enjoy the joy inevitably. As I walked through this phase, I kept reaffirming His promises.
When he (God) eventually weighed in, the storms that seemed so strong to bear turned to joy and opportunities to glorify His divine presence radiating in our lives.
Who would have thought that those conspiracies (unknown to them that they were actually instruments for our joy to remain Intact) against us were actually God’s plans to prove to mockers that He still remains Jehovah overdo with His unstoppable mercy?
“Today, we are celebrating the goodness in our trying period because God turned the mess created by enemies into a huge favour. My darling; Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, I wish your haters knew what God was planning, they wouldn’t have conspired against you. I wish they knew that all their plans will end in promotion; they would have allowed you in your space. I remember this scripture that came to my mind when the unfortunate incident happened last year, (Mark 14:21) “the Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man, who betrays the Son of Man it would have been better for him if he had not been born.
We have seen battles that seemed insurmountable but the grace of God conquered them all! Because it is in His infinite mercy, He makes our joy intact.
This is the main reason whenever I find “The Unstoppable Genesis” attached to my husband’s name, My Joy Is Always Intact, even in the darkest situations.
We are all standing here today rejoicing because only God himself made it this way. Memories and mixed feelings may linger, I must say, 18th of November will always come with these feelings but the reassurance from God will always overwhelm them.”
Prophet Isreal Oladele also added: “anytime I think about how God has been able to give grace to become the game-changer within the landscape of white garment churches, I always come to acknowledge the contribution and impacts my family has greatly made to grow the ministry.
All the dreams and aspirations couldn’t have been possible and visible, if my family was not supportive, it could have remained mere dreams and wishes, but for unwavering support from different quarters of my family made them a reality.
Like I have stated before, the foundation of growth in my ministry is the impact of members of my family have made supporting it. In this regard, church members are also part of the big family God has given me.
There is nothing more I ask from God than having my family behind and beside me. They are the gift of prayers, being answered because I would not have asked for more.”
He also appreciated his wife for being so strong and determined to put the church and house together while he was away despite all the challenges.
