Seasoned journalist and an aspirant for Alimosho Constituency 1 seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Kazeem Oluwanifesimi Adebimpe, has withdrawn from the race, citing wide consultations and unflinching loyalty to the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a press statement she signed and made available to the media, Nifemi said her decision came after periods of deliberations with leaders, explaining that her decision is not stemmed from fear of contest but to ensure that they have unity ahead of the polls proper.

The statement read;

“I, Hon. Kazeem Oluwanifesimi Adebimpe, today, after a long period of deliberation with leaders and my principal, whose ideals and ideologies influenced my resolve to contribute my quota to the advancement of Alimosho Constituency 1, I hereby formally convey my decision to step down from the legislative race.

“This is a decision taken after deep reasoning and reflection, painstaking consultation and in the spirit of unflinching loyalty to the party’s supremacy at all times.

“Ladies, gentlemen and the youth. I am so sorry that I have to take a bow from here.

“It’s not because I am scared or lack the capacity to push further, but in the interest of ensuring we have a united and formidable front ahead of the polls.

“I am so glad that I could join the race, happy that I have a voice and the voice resonates so well enough to the reckoning of my lovely constituents in Alimosho Constituency 1.

“Honestly, it was indeed a moment laden with emotion, considering especially lots of women, youths who want to embark on a journey with me.

“I will say it was a decision well thought out to make, but not in any way a sign of cowardice in any form.

“I believe together we can make Alimosho Constituency 1 a better and friendlier place

“Yet, leadership often demands not only the courage to advance, but the wisdom to yield when the moment calls for unity of purpose.

“Our commitment has always been to something greater than personal ambition—the stability, progress, and cohesion of our polity.

“In that spirit, we shall remain steadfast in our word.

“We will lend our full support to the party, recognising that the path to collective progress is best secured when we stand together rather than wide apart.

“This is not an end, but a recalibration of purpose. The cause endures, and so too does our resolve to serve.”
