The whole of Epe Constituency II is presently agog with excitement. That is since the news broke that their illustrious son, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, popularly known as Eleniyan, is vying to represent his people at the Federal House of Representatives sincethat news broke, his entire constituent, and indeed the whole of Epe, have been in jubilant mood. And you can’t fault their celebration. Hon. Olulade is an outstanding APC politician and brilliant lawmamaker, who is currently serving his Epe Constituency II for a 2nd term. And he has done incredibly well for them. He has infact surpassed their expectations with projects and empowerment programmes that have totally transformed the lives of the people for the better.
His last Mega Empowerment Program is still the talk of the town. This is one of the reasons his people have all unanimously agreed to vote for him, come 2019. And he, inturn, has vowed never to disappoint them.
Hon. Segun Olulade was born to the family of Olulade at Ejinrin in the ancient city of Epe town on 20th July 1971. As a child with humble beginning but whose parents greatly valued education, Segun had his early education in Epe, with a memorable childhood associated with water-front life. He proceeded to bag a degree in Economics at the Lagos State University Ojo.
Hon. Segun Olulade worked in the Banking industry briefly. His passion for the environmental preservation led him to take up volunteering service in waste packing and disposal. He later diversified from his core education discipline to business in the environment, which he discovered while volunteering as waste collector towards promoting habitable and descent environment in Lagos State.
He ventured into politics having succeeded in waste management business. He placed himself under the mentorship of his role model Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and broke the jinx to get his peoples’ mandate to become first person to represent his constituency 2 times consecutively in the parliament. Hon. Olulade has so many political affiliations and networks too numerous to mention.
An Economist, Waste Management Expert and Politician, Hon. Segun Olulade has broad skills in administration, human resource management, policy development, project implementation and public service. He possesses high skills in resource management, environmental preservation, policy formulation, legislative liaisons between governments and the people, conflict resolutions and management, community development advisor, publishing and team leadership.
He is passionate about giving and providing opportunities for youths. He loves to assist youths who do not have influential personalities around them that could support their talents and potentials for leadership. He is nick-named ‘Eleniyan’ for his generosity which endears him to the people especially the less privileged, the poor, the widow, children and unreached people in the society. He is also passionate about community service; he was the Founder/President Ejinrin Youth Development Union and Founder/National President of Ejinrin Students’ Union Government.
Hon. Segun Olulade who had a humble beginning, without significant supports, activated his potentials to a substantial status to achieve the following, among others: • Current Chairman of the House Committee on Health Services • Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy, Security and Publicity in the 7th Assembly • Mover of the first motion in indigenous language and pioneer of motion compelling the teaching of indigenous language in all Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos State • Mover of the motion for immortalization of the late Afrobeat Legend and Social Crusader, Fela Anikulapo Kuti • First Lawmaker in Nigeria to start informative radio programme for constituents feedback and engagement efforts • Founder of Eleniyancares leadership Foundation which partners London School of Economics in England and Leadership Institute Virginia in the United States of America • He bagged Honorary Citizen of the State of Georgia in the United States of America and he is a receiver of Young Politician Award of Global Excellence Publication 2016 among other awards too numerous to mention • He became global standard publisher.
Hon. Segun Olulade has bagged many awards among which are the outstanding Lawmaker of the year in 2012, Legislative Excellence Award same year, Most Media Friendly Lawmaker in 2015 and the Honourary Citizen of Georgia by the State of Georgia in the United States. Recognising his contributions to his community and Lagosians entirely, he was awarded traditional title of Oluomo of Ejinrin Kingdom, Otunba Mayegun of Ketu Kingdom, Otunba Amuludun of Orugbo-Iddo and Bobadega of Ojokoro Kingdom among others.
He has succeeded in raising future leaders, giving hopes to the people and working hard to ensure a better Lagos State and Nigeria.
He is happily married to a virtuous and supportive Engr. Mosunmola Fowora and blessed with children.
