It’s a few days to the Lagos governorship elections and CityPeople recently got the Lagos SDP Governorship candidate, Chief Taofeek Kunle Uthman to talk about his plans and strategies
How is his preparation for the forthcoming election in the state, we asked him.
“The Party in Lagos State is doing its best possible, within available resources to campaign and reach out to as many voters as possible, without engaging in smear campaign or whipping up tribal sentiments detrimental to our democracy and coexistence as a nation State.”
What are his impressions of the last presidential elections? “Extremely disappointing, because INEC didn’t live up to the expectations, especially as regards transmission of results.”
” This foistered on the nation a dubious result thereby discrediting the entire process locally and in the international community.”
How does he see the chances of his party, the SDP at the forthcoming elections? “Fair chance, because of our unique presentations and through debates with others shown our cerebral competence and capabilities.”
” Unfortunately, we don’t have the “war chest” others have. We trudge on and leave the final choice to the voters.”
Does he think his party can beat the APC, Labour and PDP in the forthcoming elections?
“The voting populace will decide. It is not in my character to speculate or hypothesise, as it were. My hope is that the best emerge.”
