•It’s Called, Meet The Surrogate Mothers On IG
Infertility is prevalent worldwide but. It is affecting sub-Saharan Africa higher, with 10–30% of couples affected in Nigeria.
Though there are many reasons why many mothers wait on the Lord but there is no doubt that Fertility Hospitals record high rates of patients right now. But one fertility hospital, which has turned to a Mecca and Jerusalem for many waiting mothers is Emobile Specialist Hospital fondly called “Meet the Surrogate Mothers” on Instagram.
The hospital which is one of the most talked about hospitals on the lips of waiting mothers of many years seems to have gained ground in few years of existence.
Of course, there are lots of Fertility Hospitals in Lagos, but many celebrities on Insatgram who are all mothers like Iyabo Ojo, Omoli Oboli among others have been talking about this new hopsital located inside Lekki Phase 1 on Lagos Island, and telling waiting mothers why they should visit this hopsital to either have their IVF or surrogacy done.
Even some who are mothers themsleves have also spoken so glowingly of this hopsital explaining why many celebrities should visit “Meet The Surrogate Mothers”.
Did you ask why Surrogacy? While Surrogacy has often been criticised for several reasons in the past, many celebrities have recently embraced the new method to motherhood. Though surrogacy may have started before now abroad many decades ago, but there is no doubt that many Nigerian celebrities have embraced the new assisted method to be a mother.
The likes of Uche Elendu, Laura Ikeji who are already mothers have publicly made known their intention to be a Mother again through surrogacy. This has also made the likes of popular OAP Daddy Freeze publicly talked about the subject matter via the convener of a new page on Instagram, “Meet the Surogate Mothers”, Dr. Olaronke Thaddens.
Why then are waiting mothers of many years visiting the new EMobile Specialist Hospital?
One waiting mother who pleaded anonimity revealed that she got to know about Emobile Specialist Hospital through her friend who got pregnant after waiting for over 10 years at the hospital. She said she also san an Instagram page called “Meet the Surrogate Mothers”. I remember I got to know about the page after reading testimonies of many waiting mothers on their page. I was so impressed but yet sceptical. How can they give 80 to 90 percent assurance of sucessful IVF? So I decided to give it a trial. When I got there, I was told not to park outside and I was worndering why I can’t park on the main road. I was told they love the the privacy of their patient. I drove in and I was welcome by 2 pretty receptionists who urshered me into the waiting room. I love the fact that I was not kept waiting. I was promptly responded to and all basic test were done. It is not my first IVF procedure, but their reception is 100 percent. I was even counselled before i paid for consultation. This gave me a sense of beloging. They said they know IVF is expnesive and they are giving me 80 to 90 percent assurance.
Some IVF hospitals give 50 percent but they give 80 to 90. This raised my hope.
They also analysed many reasons why IVF failed. Many hospitals dont do this. Aside this, i was advised to do a test which will make them see inside my womb. They said this is one of the reasons why IVF fialed. I also found out they were not in a hurry. I saw many mothers who have received their bundle of joy. For me, giving 80 to 90 percent assurance unlike 50 of some hospital who tell you they give you 50 percent assurance from begining made me embrace the hospital.
The name of the Hospital, meet the surrogate mothers has also makes people embrace the Hospital. It is the only Nigeria Hospital which has openly said that it is better not to wait in vain if you can have your baby through surrogancy using your husband’s active sperm.
What then is surrogacy and why are more and more celebrities embracing the new method to Motherhood?
Surrogacy is a method of assisted reproduction where intended parents work with a gestational surrogate who will carry and care for their baby(ies) until birth. Intended parents use surrogacy to start or grow their families when they can’t do so on their own.
One unique advantage of this method to motherhood despite the huge cost implications is that , the foetus is allowed to go through 100 percent gestational period and the confidentiality of the intending parent is kept private to surrogate mothers.
Is it only mothers that are embracing Surrogacy? The answer is No. Even those who haven’t given birth at all and waiting mothers who have tried several IVFs that failed have embraced Surrogacy.
Don’t forget that back in the day, those who couldn’t conceive, adopt within families to ensure the purity of their bloodline. Others would request their siblings and close relatives to conceive, gestate and deliver a baby on their behalf.
