The Agency responded to distress calls concerning the above and it was confirmed that a 30 ton LPG Tanker being operated by Mana Gas Ltd was involved in an explosion that destroyed several vehicles, X and Y Event Center, and a Plank Market in the above-mentioned axis.
The responders discovered that a compromised seal device by the truck driver had led to gradual leakages which then ignited when the tyres burst.
Responders at the scene of incidence are LASEMA fire, Lagos Fire, Police, and members of NSCDC.
Presently, the fire has been extinguished, and damping down is being carried out.
CASUALTIES
Sixteen (16) People were found to have serious injuries and were taken to various hospitals including the Iju water works Clinic. Two (2) people are in critical condition and are being referred to General Hospital Ikeja. The other 14 have been given adequate first aid treatment.
