‘I don’t sleep at night because I just lie awake and worry about where he is,’ were the words of a woman who lent out her son to her neighbour.
A 25-year-old South-African woman, Abongile Nojahi, who lent out her son to her 17-year-old neighbour, Zanele Mchunu on Saturday, is crying out for help in regret saying that the baby and neighbour had been missing for five days.
While speaking to Timeslive.co.za, she said; “This is so hard. I don’t sleep at night because I just lie awake and worry about where he is.”
While narrating further, she said; “She came to my house and asked if she could ‘borrow ‘my baby and I said that was fine. She said she would come back. I gave her my baby and by the time Sunday came‚ she hadn’t returned.”
The mother of the child explained that it wasn’t a strange request because that wasn’t the first time she was going to be leaving her child with her neighbour.
She mentioned, “She often looks after him‚ so it was normal to me. I have known her for a year and she is my neighbour.”
She also noted that Mchunu’s phone rings without being answered.
