Only black Fridays have been memorable in world history but Monday, June 5 2017 was equally a sad day for the entire football world as one of the brightest Ivorian stars and African representative abraod, Cheick Tiote, kicked the bucket.
The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF also took out time time to dondole with the families of the late footballer on twitter.
“Rest in peace, Cheick Tioté – our condolences are with the Ivorian Football family, his family and friends.” – NFF.
The former Newcastle United player was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed on the training ground of his Chinese team, Beijing Enterprises in China.

Fellow Ivorians Yaya Toure, Didier Drogba, Newcastle United players and the football world took to Twitter to pay tribute to the midfielder.
His former manager Rafa Benitez described him as a professional, who was dedicated and talented.
“In the time I have known him, he was a true professional, dedicated, talented and above all, a great man,” he said.
