Alhaji Abdulhameed Femi Omotayo Promises Equity, Justice, Peace & Progress Across Ogun East
Alhaji Abdulhameed Femi Omotayo, widely known across Ogun East as OmoOwo, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District following the party’s primary election held on Wednesday, 20th May 2026, at the Adeola Odutola Hall, Ijebu-Ode.
His emergence marks the beginning of a new movement built around inclusive representation, accessible leadership, and renewed hope for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District.
Speaking shortly after the declaration of results, Alhaji Omotayo expressed deep appreciation to party leaders, delegates, supporters, and members of the PDP family across Ogun East for the confidence reposed in him. “I am deeply honoured by the trust and confidence our party and our people have placed in me. I do not take this responsibility lightly. Today is not about one man. It is about the future of Ogun East. It is about building a Senatorial District where every community feels heard, respected, included, and represented.”
Alhaji Omotayo stated that his campaign would be anchored on the principles of: Equity • Justice • Peace • Progress. According to him, sustainable development can only thrive where there is fairness, inclusion, and peace across all communities.
With decades of experience in business, enterprise development, and private-sector leadership across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, Alhaji Omotayo said he is bringing practical experience, institution-building capacity, and people-focused leadership into public service. He further noted that the people of Ogun East deserve more than ceremonial representation, adding that his ambition is to build a responsive and accessible senatorial office that remains connected to the people at all times.
“I might not be able to resolve all issues, but I promise to respond to all. The people of Ogun East deserve a Senator who listens, engages, and remains accessible.”
As part of this commitment, he disclosed plans to establish technologically-enabled constituency representative offices across Ogun East to ensure citizens can easily reach their Senator, communicate their concerns, and receive timely feedback regardless of their location within the district.
The Ogun East Senatorial District comprises 9 local government areas and 1,555 polling units spanning Ijebu, Remo, and Ogun Waterside communities. Alhaji Omotayo pledged to run an issue-based, peaceful, and inclusive campaign that will give equal attention and equal respect to every part of the district.
“This campaign will not be defined by division, bitterness, or exclusion. It will be defined by unity, inclusion, development, and genuine service to the people,” he added.
The campaign also reiterated its commitment to youth inclusion, community engagement, and broader participation in the democratic process, especially among first-time voters and young people across Ogun East.
