It was a colourful 80th birthday celebration for Baba Oba,John Oluropo Ogunwusi,the father of the Ooni of Ife.
The event took place on Sunday 6th of March, 2022 at the prestigious IFE Grand Resorts Ile-Ife, Osun State.It witnessed the presence of many creme-de-la-creme in society. Many Monarchs came to pay homage and to celebrate with Baba Oba John Oluropo Ogunwusi.Though he clocked 80 ,he doesn’t look it a bit.
One could actually see the joy in the face of the celebrant and his wife,Olori Agba Margaret Bukola Ogunwusi . He was happy to see how all his children and grand children rallied round him to celebrate his 80th birthday.
This one in town celebration started with a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul Anglican Church,situated at Aiyegbaju area of Ile-Ife, before the celebrant and the family moved to the reception at the Grand Resort,to join the many guests who couldn’t make it to church.
Part of the highpoint of the event, was the presentation of a new 4 runner Jeep to the celebrant by the children to mark his 80th birthday. There was a lot to eat and drink.
Veteran Juju singer, Asiwaju Dele Taiwo really thrilled all the guests with her energetic performance. There was also a lot of side attractions and performances from different cultural troupes. Little comedienne, Small Mummy and Glorious twins singer also performed for Baba Oba.
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi also joined the celebration much later, after the celebrant has left, in accordance with the custom.
But every member of the family and well wishers had a swell time, celebrating a man of honour, Baba Oba John Oluropo Ogunwusi.
The event was attended by a lot of celebrity women who made great style Statements.
