Popular IBADAN Malls People Rush To

by City People

There has been an appreciative increase in number of shopping malls lately in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. New malls are springing up almost everyday to join the existing ones in the sector. The competition among practitioners in the sector is huge too as the malls are trying hard to outdo one another in terms of facilities, innovations and good location.

In fact, the latest growth in the shopping mall business in Ibadan is astronomical. The growth has not only given room for more shopper’s choices, it has also opened doors of opportunity for estate agents. Property owners, especially those at choice areas close to the major roads are now smiling to the bank. City People’s findings revealed that the boom in this sector is not unconnected with the new developments and the massive influx of people from Lagos. Our findings further revealed that many people are relocating from Lagos that is largely believed to be already overcrowded.

According to a stakeholder in the sector, the massive turnaround in the sector is as result of the fact that people find Ibadan more peaceful and affordable, compared to the high standard of living and the hustle and bustle of Lagos. The improved night life of the ancient city is another factor that has really helped the sector, according to him. “The growth is expected. Some of us who saw the sign long before now kin to it, and we are better off for it today,” he said.

Though the shopping malls in Ibadan are unique in their own different ways, there are, however, some of them who are outstanding due to their size, location or popularity.
