The ancient town of Odosenlu-Alaro, nestled in the royal heart of Ijebu Land, is aglow with anticipation. Preparations are in top gear for a ceremony that promises to blend culture, class, and celebration — the grand installation of a remarkable couple whose influence reaches far beyond Nigeria’s shores.
On Saturday, December 13th, 2025, all roads will lead to the palace of the Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro Kingdom, where Otunba (Dr.) Taiwo Oluwole Olubanwo will be formally installed as the Otunba Atunluse of Odosenlu-Alaro, and his wife, Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Adunni Olubanwo, will be adorned with the title of Yeye Otunba Atunluse.
The confirmation came in an official letter dated October 13th, 2025, signed by the Secretary of the Coronation Committee, Chief A. A. Durojaiye, which read in part:
“In reference to your letter of acceptance of the above Chieftaincy Title, I am directed to inform you that the installation ceremony of the Otunba Atunluse and Yeye Atunluse of Odosenlu-Alaro will take place on 13th December 2025, by 10:00 a.m. at the Palace of the Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro Kingdom, by God’s grace.”
But beyond the pageantry and drums lies a deeper story — a celebration of legacy, leadership, and love for humanity.
A Global Visionary Returns Home
Few journeys reflect excellence and purpose quite like that of Dr. Taiwo Olubanwo. With nearly two decades of shaping health systems across Canada and beyond, he has become a trailblazer in clinical and public health leadership. A man who merges science with compassion, strategy with service, and global insight with local impact.
As Executive Director of Primary Health Care within Canada’s health system, his portfolio is vast — covering primary care, physician and nursing services, EMS, home care, public health, mental health, community wellness, and Indigenous health. His leadership has been both transformative and inclusive, consistently advancing health equity for vulnerable and underserved populations.
Dr. Olubanwo is the kind of leader who doesn’t just manage systems — he redefines them. He stands as a voice of innovation, empathy, and excellence, embodying what it means to serve humanity in a changing world.

Philanthropy With Purpose
Though his professional footprints span continents, his heart remains deeply rooted in Nigeria. Through his philanthropic initiatives, Dr Olubanwo continues to positively impact lives across Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, and beyond — bringing hope to rural communities often overlooked by policy.
His approach is both strategic and soulful. Whether through healthcare access, youth empowerment, education, or poverty alleviation, he believes that “true development is a collective responsibility.”
From building healthcare infrastructure to launching community outreach programs, his philanthropy is not charity — it is nation-building in action.
Enterprise With a Human Face
Dr. Olubanwo is more than a philanthropist; he is a visionary entrepreneur whose business empire reflects purpose-driven innovation. As Chairman and CEO of several thriving companies — including Unicemed Consortium Inc., BanwOil Petroleum, Zenith City Hotels & Suites, Apex Premium Estate, Unicemed Health Centre, Zenith City Motors, and Regal Wellness Foundation Inc. (a Canada-based charity) — he exemplifies the modern African entrepreneur: dynamic, ethical, and community-minded.
Each of these ventures bridges the gap between business and humanity, creating jobs, empowering communities, and uplifting lives across Canada and Nigeria.

Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Olubanwo: Grace, Strength & Service
Every great man stands taller beside a great woman — and Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Adunni Olubanwo is that woman of grace, strength, and substance. Recently installed as the Iya Ijo (Matron) of St. Peter African Church in Ijebu Land, she is both a spiritual and social pillar in her community.
A highly respected clinician and Director of Outpatient Clinics in Canada, Yeye Olubanwo is also the President of the Regal Wellness Foundation Inc. (RWFI), where she leads life-changing initiatives focused on health, women’s empowerment, and social welfare.
Together with her husband, she embodies compassion in motion — building bridges of opportunity for the underprivileged, particularly women, youth, and the elderly. Her new chieftaincy title, Yeye Otunba Atunluse, is thus a royal seal on years of selfless dedication.
The Royal Honour: “Atunluse” — The Rebuilder of Community
The title Otunba Atunluse translates to “one who rebuilds the community” — a description that perfectly captures the Olubanwos’ journey. Their work in healthcare, philanthropy, and social reform mirrors the essence of the name: rebuilding lives, restoring dignity, and renewing hope.
As the Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro Kingdom bestows this prestigious honour, the community celebrates not just a title but a testament to service and impact that transcends borders.
A Legacy in Motion
From the polished boardrooms of Canada to the regal grounds of Ijebu Land, Otunba (Dr.) Taiwo Olubanwo and Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Olubanwo represent the harmony of tradition and transformation. Their story is one of faith, excellence, and purposeful leadership — a reminder that royalty is not defined by crowns, but by character and contribution.
As they ascend to their new royal roles, the Olubanwos bring with them a legacy already built — and a vision still unfolding.
City People Magazine proudly joins the global community in celebrating this remarkable honour.
Long may they reign — not just in title, but in transformative action.
