Nigeria’s first man, President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country from his brief London trip.
Buhari made the trip to London at the end of the of the 72nd session of the UN general assembly(UNGA) in New York.
Special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, had said his principal would return to the country on Monday.
However, he did not disclose the reason for the UK visit, fuelling the speculation that the trip might be health-related.
In this year alone, Buhari has spent at least 153 days receiving medical treatment in London.
While at UNGA, Buhari called on the international community to devise strategies to stop the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS) from infiltrating the Lake Chad Basin.
Nigeria, Niger, and Chad are among countries in the basin, where Boko Haram and its affiliates are a threat.
Buhari had also said the international community must be “mindful and focus on the widening inequalities within societies, and the gap between the rich and the poor nations”.
