A young lady, identified simply as Jumoke, has been killed by bullets fired by security operatives trying to disperse Yoruba Nation agitators at Ojota, Lagos State, on Saturday, July 3, 2021
The young lady, who was said to be a yoghurt seller, was hit by a bullet in her stomach while running for safety. Reports going round on social media holds that the deceased was 14-year-old. A new report from a close source to the deceased family told Citypeople that the young girl, whose name is Jumoke Oyeleke was 24 years at the time she was shot.
The source said that the young girl was never part of the protest but was arranging the shop for the business of the day.
“One idiot dumped the Yoruba nation flag there but she wasn’t even participating in the protest. She was in her Boss shop arranging the yoghurt when she saw people running and she had to run also before the police fired the bullet that killed her. She didn’t die immediately as she was brought back into the compound where the shop was located.
“They could have saved her because she didn’t die immediately but the police were arresting people, and the hospital won’t take her with a police report to treat the gun wound. She died like 30 minutes later.
“A man said she fell down crushing on his leg from the back while running away from the Police but he didn’t wait for a while to avoid been hit too”, he stated
