A resident of Oke Isagun, Command identified as Sola Ezekiel Asaolu has been declared missing after he was attacked by unknown armed men in April 2019.
Mr Sola, 44, who had escaped an attack by the whiskers at this resident, had moved to Ogun state with his wife almost immediately after the attack but he’s nowhere to be found as at press time.
Sola Asaolu was declared missing by his landlord, Simeon Ogundeyi who spoke with journalists about the disappearance of his occupant.
He reportedly left his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, and settled in a church in Ogun state, after he was attacked by men suspected to be northern Islamists and whereabouts have been unknown since then.
Efforts by his landlord and colleagues to reach Sola on his mobile line were not successful. The landlord who is notifying the public about his move to evacuate his belongings from his apartment is calling on the public who may know his whereabouts before he takes action.
Speaking with newsmen, Mr Simeon said Mr Sola has been unreachable since the time he was reportedly attacked and all efforts to reach him has proven abortive.
“When I heard about the attack last year, I was worried. I left my office immediately and saw all the damages done to the walls and fence. I saw that his belongings have been vandalised and he was no longer around. I have been trying to connect with him since but unfortunately, I couldn’t reach him.
“I have done all the renovations and have fixed all the broken fence and walls and have also painted the house, ready for habitation. It’s been about a year and his rent expired since last July, 2019.
“Up till now, his belongings are still in there and I need to confirm if he’s still interested in the apartment.
“I have tried to reach him and his family at the church they were in Ogun state but I learnt they have all left the place.
“We can’t continue to wait for him while the house deteriorates for lack of occupant.”, he said.
Mr Sola Asaolu’s trouble began in March 2019, when his father was killed by armed Islamist bandits who stormed a farm in Benue state and killed 16 farmers. At the burial of his father, Sola maintained that Yoruba nation must be achieved, as he claimed the bandits who killed his father will go scot-free because the Hausa-Fulani tribe, who are in government are in support of their activities. He vowed to propagate the cause of Yoruba secession beyond the borders of Nigeria.
It was reported that the statement he made at the burial heated up the polity as a Pro-Yoruba nation convener, Sunday Igboho launched his own cause afterwards.
Recall that Sola was attacked about a month after his father was killed in cold blood. His apartment was ransacked by unknown gunmen, but he had escaped before they gained entrance into his house.
He reportedly flee from Lagos state with his family to settle in a remote church in Ogun state where he kept his family.
The report has it that both Sola, his wife and children have now left the church and can no longer be traced, as he feared for his life and that of his family.
