There exists in life, many rivers to cross, realistically the attainment of exploits followed by rewards will eventually result in fulfilment. Purpose-driven individuals are exemplary in accomplishment which makes them stand tall significantly amongst too many. Over time these achievements dwindle as many make no real trajectory to pass the barton and bring to fore the much-needed successor. The reason is that the unique experience that birthed the viable mindset translated to greatness can not really be shared. Based on the fact, that most people who through hardships and turbulence gained ascendancy into fame cannot frame it on the spouse, children or the workforce. One time, a leader had to tell his followers to not follow his weaknesses but his strength. In other words, his ability to indulge in certain niceties had been paid for through sweat and blood. Yet all they can perceive is the pleasantries that they easily absorb.
Offsprings that come into such successes, usually lack frugal lifestyles, which cannot be inflicted nor adopted in the present state of flourishing. Most times the acumen needed to upgrade through the next generation with flagrant lifestyles diminishes. The only possible saving factor could be traced naturally to inherited traits. Awakening the inherent traits becomes available when perhaps challenges are confronted bringing forth the thirst that drives everyone to try to attain something good. Usually, however, this really comes up, when almost all surrounding trappings of wealth have been extinguished. Today we see almost everywhere buildings and companies that are abandoned based on the failure of the next generation.
So why are there really no direct transfers, someone may enquire? the answer to that is the sit tight syndrome or even premature inheritance structures. With the sit tight, most of the establishment initiatives have no succession plan based on distrust or plain lack of wisdom. Amazingly this is also tied to premature transfers when suddenly a person takes up entrepreneurship of a company, with zero knowledge devoid of necessary training. Thereby resistance within, personal insecurity and incompetence may be crippling and frustrating. The importance of inclusion, where necessary making recognition and respect the salient factors helps in reinstating your brand or if you like your offspring.
In politics, your successor must be participating visibly and this will present a natural successor easily recognisable. I recall one of such leaders who vigorously involved his son in politics, by the time they were falling out, it was too late as his son had already taken over the political space. This should be everyone’s prayer or vision and though based on human frailties we fight it , a system without a successor is clearly a failure. There must be a structure in which you have meticulously replicated your vision and aspirations to evoke continuity.
Although, life lessons, to me the most practical demonstrator of the aforementioned is JESUS CHRIST. In his choice of the twelve Apostles with the Go ye mandate, he was able to cover the whole world. Which is still the position as all his followers adhere to his mode which is evangelism. The notion was to send them forth after they had seen him demonstrate love, The Miraculous, and the word. Amidst greatness, we must not abandon our next generation rather it is important to vehemently transfer all our gifting so as to ensure the vision to do good is not extinguished. In continuity lies the victory, Which is demonstrated as we show the world the way to go!!!!!
Let me conclude in the words of JESUS which is the key to greatness for the next generation
” Greater things shall you do, in my name “
