Top Journalist, LOLA UTHMAN, Celebrates 60th Birthday

Saturday 1st February would remain a remarkable day for the families, friends, children, grandchildren and families of Madam Titilola Uthman popularly known as Lolly Fabulous as she turned 60. The celebrator who turned a sexagenarian was filled with so much happiness and gratitude to God who has made the day a reality for her. Madam Titilola who has worked for several years as a journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority {NTA}had many of her colleagues in the media industry in attendance. She had a classy party at her Gbagada Residence in Lagos. Turning a sexagenarian is no joke. Its a 60 years filled with memories, experience, good, bad and a whole lot. It is everyone’s dream and desire to turn 60 and not so many enjoyed that great privilege because many passed away even before that age and it is worth celebrating.

The venue was decorated in white and flowery designs and disc jockey kings were on the wheel to entertain guests with songs. Madam Lola Uthman rocked a fucial pink luxury lace with a gold headgear. She stepped out in style as she welcomed her guests. She was such an amiable woman who had a lively aura around her. The DJ played old school songs in the 80s and 90s which brought back old memories.

Barrister Tolani Edu, a bosom friend of the celebrator cheered the occasion. She was the masters of ceremony for the birthday bash. She welcomed guests present and invited Hon. Justice Lati Folami from Lagos Judiciary to lead the opening prayer. She prayed in Islam and translated it in English. She prayed for the longevity of life full of happiness. Shortly after the opening prayers, guests were invited to come and talk about the celebrator. Different guests had different things to say on how they met the celebrator.

Mr Riliwan Uthman spoke his relationship with the celebrant. He mentioned that his sister was a very reliable person and she is caring to a fault. He described Madam Lola as a mother hen who will protect her chick with all she has. He also mentioned that she is a confident and loving person. “She will always call a spade a spade without mincing word and I celebrate her always” he added.

Mr Folarin reflected on how he has spent over 55 years of his life with Madam Lola Uthman. I have known her all my life and she has been more than a sister to me. She is a mother and a very loving one at that, “he said. She cared just as our mother and she is the peacemaker. She will fight and stand for us whenever she thinks we are cheated and she is really looking younger by the day. All I can wish her is another 60 years filled with good health, happiness and a sound mind.

Barrister Tolani Edu spoke on how she met her friend Lola Uthman at Nigerian Television Authority 44 years ago and how they have remained friends since then. “She is more than a friend to me. I can boldly say that I have found more than friendship in her. She is a family friend and a sister to me. People wonder on how we have kept our friendship for more than 4 decades and I tell them that friendship is an experience of love, sacrifice, care, understanding and trust. We have been through thick and thin together and weathered a lot of storms and that is why we are still standing”.

Ms Dehinde Harrison, Chief Executive of Ebony Company handled the cutting of the cake. She got guests curious when she mentioned that she will be counting 1 to 60 before they celebrant can cut the cake. She counted in tens up to sixty in style. The celebrator had several cakes on the table. She cut the cake and there was lightning all around her. It was really a beautiful scene and her mum, friends, children, grandchildren and families joined her in the cutting of her cake. Dance and refreshment followed after photo sessions. There was so much food to eat and drinks to take.

Guests present at the event include Hon. Justice Lati Folami, Barrister Kunle Uthman, Barrister Tolani Edu, Mr Femi Disu, Mr Fashola, Mr Lanre Uthman, Miss Biodun Olowoake, Mrs Williams, Mr &Mrs Dara Akin Oshodi, Ms Dehinde Harrison, Odebiyi Shola, Bukky Shoremekun to mention a few.
