5 Years After Her Husband’s Death
Those who perhaps thought the end of Synagogue Church Of All Nations was a matter of time with the passing of its founder, T.B Joshua in 2021 would be shocked to find out the situation is exactly the opposite. This is because the church has been waxing stronger and the architect of that is none other than the late Joshua‘s wife, Evelyn.
They had thought that The Synagogue would have died with the Visioner, either from leadership crisis which almost pitched the ‘wise men’ and the late founder’s wife. Many will be eating back their words now as The Synagogue has been witnessing very large turn-out from attendees and disciples who troop in to its Ikotun-Egbe headquarters from within and outside the country. This is, as Pastor Evelyn has been giving the church positive and purposeful leadership and the right vibes.
She has transformed the church in several ways so much so that many worshippers feel her ascension to the Church’s leadership role was the best decision after her husband’s demise.
Under the leadership of Pastor Evelyn, the Synagogue has come up with its special miracle water with which,, a lot of miracles have been taking place there as being beamed live daily by Emmanuel TV, the ministry’s television station.
And this is a testament to how Evelyn has been using the bottled special miracle water to turn things around in the lives of many who turn up for divine intervention on a daily basis.
Every weekend, the whole of Ikotun-Egbe road, Prophet TB Joshua Avenue, the new land of the church with an overflow of over 30,000 worshippers scramble to be a part of the service, not to mention inside the overcrowded main church auditorium that could ordinarily take about 20,000 people.
Besides the renewed ministering, those who thought the 3 day prayer mountain activity of SCOAN was gone with Joshua’s passing were excited when she resumed the Revival mountain 3-day service which is one of the most sought by members.
This service afforded them the opportunity to pray to their maker alongside fasting for quick intercession.Venue is the SCOAN Prayer mountain in Agodo, a few distance away from the main church in Ikotun.
Pastor Evelyn’s plan to expand the church beyond Lagos has also beared fruit
2 yrs ago, led by her, Synagogue reopened its first branch of the church in Ondo State, the home state of its founder, the late Prophet Temitope Joshua.
The multimillion-naira edifice, sited in Akure, the Ondo State capital along Ilesha-Owo expressway opposite NNPC Mega Station, was built on more than five hectares of land with a capacity of over 6,000 worshippers. The then state’s deputy governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa (now governor)who commissioned the branch described it
as “a giant stride of the church under the leadership of Pastor Evelyn Joshua with tremendous grace for the upliftment of the people of Ondo State in particular who will benefit more of God’s blessings as people from the environment won’t have to be traveling to Lagos for worship because the spirit of God is one and is here”. Ayedatiwa, commended the vision of SCOAN and congratulated its leadership Pastor Mrs Joshua for her perseverance in reinforcing the legacy of the founder.
Apart from her work locally , she has also embarked on International evangelism tour spreading the gospel. As recently as mid last year , thousands gathered at the expo Centre in Johannesburg for the much-anticipated Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) South Africa Revival, themed “Holy Spirit Visitation with Evelyn Joshua’.
The event drew attendees from across South Africa and neighbouring Southern African countries, all united in anticipation of a divine encounter.
Joined by a team of SCOAN evangelists, Pastor Evelyn ministered messages of hope, healing, and restoration to an eager and expectant audience.
The atmosphere was charged with faith as many reported remarkable experiences of physical healing, emotional liberation, and spiritual breakthroughs. Described by attendees as a day of divine visitation, the revival featured testimonies of what witnesses referred to as “supernatural manifestations” of God’s power. Individuals battling long-standing health conditions shared stories of immediate healing.
Others testified to deliverance from emotional burdens and freedom from generational challenges.
In addition, a cash donation of R100,000 was presented by Pastor Joshua to support the community’s welfare. She encouraged the people with words of hope, assuring them of God’s unwavering love and provision. In addition, the woman of God also commissioned a portable water borehole for the use of the community, amid cheers and a loud ovation.
The outreach was welcomed with heartfelt cultural performances from a local dance group, who expressed gratitude for the support and acknowledged Pastor Evelyn as a channel through whom their community had experienced renewed hope. These are some of the activities the late Pastor Joshua’s wife has undertaken to keep the flame of the church and her husband burning.
HOW SHE MET HER
LATE HUSBAND
Evelyn met the late Pastor in 1990 when she had travelled to Egbe to visit her sister. The two were married for 31 years and had three children.
According to reports, she had gone to meet him for counselling and spiritual guidance. TB Joshua reportedly proposed to her on the same day they first met after a 45-minute session. Evelyn’s parents, Mr. and Mrs Nicholas Akobundo is a native of Okala Okpumo community in Oshili North Local Government Area of Delta State, an Igbo speaking area and is the fifth child of the family.
Under her leadership, the Synagogue has been waxing stronger, drawing disciples and pilgrims from across the globe, just like her late husband and founder of the church did. Those who have encountered her say she is very unassuming, down-to-earth, with a listening ear.
