On Sunday, 23rd January 2022, Egbe Bobagunwa Obinrin Akile Ijebu held its 3rd Anniversary at Ijebu-Ode Club, GRA, Ijebu-Ode.
The hall was decorated in green-and-wine chiffon materials. The event was all about reaching out to the aged.
Gunwa Elizabeth Akinola is the Iyalode Egbe Bobagunwa Obinrin, Akile Ijebu, “Igbimo Alatunto” while Arije Olufisayo is the General Secretary.
The club boasts of 83 members.
They were all dressed in Ankara (iro and buba) with Aso-Oke as gele and ipele each member’s title was attached to her ipele. Members also spotted their iro and buba frilling them with gele and ipele. They all look gorgeous and beautiful.
During the event the General Secretary announced the names widows who came out to collect their donations as organised by club’s.
In attendance were a few traditional rulers in their full regalia traditional rulers are from Ogun State. The day was also the Iyalode birthday. A birthday cake was cut and shared among members.
T.K. feel drink was there to showcase her garri, spawn and fried fish, DJ Olosho was there too to thrill members with his wheels of steel.
The M.C. of the event announced the presence of the Iya Egbe and read list of members. The General Secretary announced the awards given to the new Baba Egbe and Iya Egbe. A popular musician, Alayo, was on the bandstand. Many socialites, were present at the event. The General Chairman of the event was in charge of the food and decoration. Different members of different clubs graced the occasion.
Alayo Singer regaled guests and dignitaries with his songs. He also sang some favourite songs to Iyalode Egbe that attracted attention to him on stage.
The Egbe Bobagunwa Obinrin Akile Ijebu has about 83 beautiful women as members. They are Arije Olufisayo Grace, Abisola Adekoya, Akinyande Omotolani, Amori Oluwakemi, Balogun Olaide, Bolaji Odesina, Jadesola Abass, Bolanle Hassan, Bukola Quadri, Dada Abudulai, Imoleayo Asipa, Kemi Ashafa, Lolo Adunni Oreyin, Omoku Andu, Rukayat Adekambi, Rashidat Watchman, Risikat Salisu, Rashidat Alliu, Simisola Charles, Toyin Bamiro, Toyin Coker, Wunmi Fashina, Yemisi Idowu, Yinka Oloko, Zainab Anibi, Bosede Bashiru, Tawakalitu Odusola, Funmi Rasak, Fadimu Yetunde, Ganiyat Ayoade, Titilayo Oshibanjo, Ayomide Bello, Omowunmi Odofin, Omotola Hassan, Jumoke Idowu, Folashade Hassan, Adigun Abike Rafiat and Seweje Temitope.
