Without a doubt, one of the most charismatic and flamboyant clergies in the country today is Bishop (Dr)Tom Sampson, the shepherd in charge of Christ Royal Family International Church located in Ikeja, Lagos. He is one man of God that has been enormously blessed and he tells anyone who cares to listen that he has no apologies for God’s blessings upon his life, and so he has no qualms flaunting it to the glory of God. He drives some of the most exotic wonders on wheels you can ever find and in the same breadth, investing massively in philanthropy, giving to the widows, hose wives and less privileged within and outside his church.
Beside these attributes, Bishop Tom Samson is a man of God that is bursting at the sims with the fire of God. His Revival and Deliverance programmes are always fiery. The turnouts for these programmes are often massive with testimonies flying everywhere. Whenever Bishop Tom Samson mounts the podium you know fire is coming down. His energy is something else. Three weeks ago, this dynamic and highly revered man of God had a press parley where he spoke about his coming programme, “It Is War.”
What can you tell the public about the major subject ‘’IT IS WAR’’?
By the special grace of God, the mission was sent in 2004. The Holy Spirit told me a lot of God’s children are going through spiritual problems that need to be addressed. It is war is a warfare programme that has to do with life itself which is a warfare. We believe that it is time for us Christian to put the devil where he belongs because we should know that a lot of Biblical people who were chosen by God were taken over by the devil. For instance, someone like me, I have challenges and there are adversaries, but God told me that He would be an adversary to my adversary and enemy to my enemy. ‘It is war’ is a time for us to wage war against Satanic stronghold. The Bible says that the thief came to steal and to destroy, so it is war because the devil is out there to destroy our lives. He is working against the mandates of God in our lives. Resistance is the purpose of ‘’IT IS WAR’’.
When was the programme conceptualized, sir?
It was 2004 and we introduced the programme in the City of Lagos and from there it moved to Abuja, Port Harcourt, London, then to Ireland, Atlanta in USA and the experience has been amazing.
What can you say about the programme this year?
As you can see, this year is very unique, the programme has changed the lives of the people. What are we doing differently? We believe that many are far from their destiny and we believe also that there is the need for so much reawakening. What we expect here is that there is going to be restoration, healing and we believe that God the Almighty will surely confirm His power in our lives. I believe that all our cankerworms will be healed by the special Grace of God.
How is the feedback of the programme from 2004 till now?
The feedback has been awesome, it was war before and after the war. We thank God that we have people from the banking industry, the government, politics and other strategic areas. So, the war is an extensive one which is very important.
The fact is that some have excelled in their individual jobs and are working in oil and gas, banking etc. Some people are today, directors even in ministries. I have people in my church today who are citizens in England, Republic of Ireland, the United States of America etc. one thing I know is that ‘’It Is War’’ has released many to their destiny. Although the devil will restrain you from fulfilling your destiny, but you need to fight the devil through a programme like ‘’It is War’’.
What is the idea behind ‘’IT IS WAR’’?
‘It Is War’ is my idea and it is based on the fact that we need to fight for our rights.
What is your view about the Sunday Igboho issue?
It describes the mood of ‘’IT IS WAR’’ because the programme is meant to tackle all the problems and challenges bedeviling us in Nigeria. What I know is that the Bible lets us know that the devil came but to steal and destroy and judging by that fact, we need to turn ourselves to prayer warriors in order to battle him and this is why we organize this programmed tagged ‘’IT IS WAR’’. We can achieve our aims and goals if we follow the footsteps of God. I believe that as a nation, with structure, we can do things without bloodshed.
All I can say is that I am appealing to our government that we need restructuring so that our country can be great like the US, England and other advanced countries. We should be among the notable countries of the world and that is why we are launching war against Saatan.my prayer is that by the Grace of God, Satan will not prevail on this country. But we need to cry unto God.
Nigeria has had bloodsheds, right from the beginning to the present day crisis like Boko Haram, herdsmen, kidnappers, bandits and more. It is those that are affected that are feeling the pain. So we need to raise our voices and pray fervently so that God will hearken and solve our problems.
Your message for the youth sir?
The youths are crying because there is no future for them. Our youths need to believe in themselves and God. The EndSars is a signal for the struggle but the youths need to call on God. He can and will do anything because I believe that through ‘’IT IS WAR’’ GOD will do many things.
All I know is that we should try and work in God’s philosophy.
What do you think about our leaders?
I believe that we sent them there and they need to satisfy our needs. We voted for the members of House of Assembly in all states and the House of Representatives including the Senate, but all we are telling them is that they should act well. Let them go back to their constituencies and work on them.
Your last words, sir?
All I have to say is that we need to coordinate ourselves. Let us believe in God. Come for this programme, ‘’IT IS WAR’’. I want people to know that God will raise stars in every family. Our foundation is relevant. No matter how blessed or oriented we are, we need God and that is our key for this programme, ‘’IT IS WAR’’.
It is our prayer that the Nigeria youths will make it and we shall all be proud of them. I came into Lagos as a youth and I know that there are resources that can make us. Our youths have places they are yet to explore. I came into Lagos in 1991. I had nothing with me, I came empty, but today, I have so many things that I’m doing, such as providing job opportunities, feeding people and you too, you are a success and by the Grace of God, you will soon be discovered. Our youths will soon dominate the general sphere of the country and so shall it be in Jesus name.
What Are we expecting after ‘’IT IS WAR’’
The fact is that our nation, Nigeria has suffered a lot of war discrepancies and unsettlement which have disturbed the peace of the nation; and all of us are looking at human beings and not principalities and powers. Why do we have nations suffering? It is because of War and Demonic Setbacks. These are the things affecting us through spiritual attacks
