Winners have emerged at the just concluded annual ESGN Senior Secondary Schools Competition held in Lagos.
The winners’ prize giving ceremony of the 2022 edition of competition was held on Tuesday 25th of October, 2022 at the Nordica Fertility Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos state. It was a keenly contested essay competition which engaged female students in secondary schools in the act of learning and writing about the topic: “Increasing the Awareness of Endometriosis in Nigeria”
The competition was organised by the Endometriosis Support Group Nigeria (ESGN), an organization committed to raising awareness on ENDOMETRIOSIS and providing help and support for those affected.ESGN is actively at the forefront of creating awareness, educating the public and creating platforms that support females living with Endometriosis in Nigeria. It used the competition as a platform to create awareness amongst adolescents, promote creative writing and also encourage research for knowledge on the topic.
The competition produced worthy winners following the months of thorough screening and adjudication process by a reputable independent panel of judges.
Tijani Aisha, a student of Crescent College, VI came top while Udom God’s Favour from Prudence City College and Femi Olafuyi from Rainbow College took 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.
The Patron of ESGN and MD, CEO of Nordica Fertility Center, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi presented the trophy and a cheque of N50,000 to Tijani Aisha who emerged as the winner of the essay competition. The Runners-Up were also rewarded handsomely as theCountry Manager of Astrazeneca, Mr. Morris Nyarko and the Clinic Manager of Nordica Fertility Center, Mrs. Tola Ajayi handed the check rewards of #30,000 and #20,000 to those occupying 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up respectively.



Aisha Tijani had a worthwhile celebration as she was given the great privilege of visiting the Astrazeneca head office in Ikeja acting as the Country Manager of Astrazeneca in commemoration of the International Day Of The Girl Child.
On that day, she had a 30 minutes Teams meeting with the entire staff of AstraZeneca Nigeria after which she had brunch with AZ senior Management and interacted with other top female managers at Astrazeneca.
Prior to this, she had joined Astra Zenica Global Girl Child meeting on a Zoom virtual platform (#GirlsBelongHere) where she interacted with other girls from countries like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa.
