The Yoruba Community Council, in furtherance of its mandate of effecting a sense of cultural direction in the citizenry, is again, set to organize a Public Lecture with the theme, “Extending Interdependence; A Cohesive Yoruba Culture For National Unity”.
According to the council secretary, Bunmi Toki Durojaiye, the event aims to Honour one of its highly committed stakeholders, Barrister R.S Adegoke, Comptroller of Immigration, who is newly posted to Rivers State
The lecture, scheduled to hold at the Cubana Lounge and Event Center, Abacha Road, GRA, Rivers, on Saturday, 30th November 2019, will be delivered by a senior research fellow, Prof. Kilani Abdulrasak.
Chief Kola Babalola, is the Chairman of the Occasion, while Chief Bright Alabi, President General for South South, South East, will oversee the occasion.
The Public Lecture series was conceptualized as a vibrant programme to serve as a platform for intellectual discourse on culture; sensitize Nigerians to the strategic importance of culture in the promotion and sustenance of Yoruba Heritage and our nascent democracy; effect a sense of cultural direction in the citizenry to better appreciate the need for Nigerians to embrace our culture, cherish its inherent values and accord it a pride of place in all aspects of our development agenda.
