It was a grand farewell — one that truly celebrated a life of grace, love, and lasting legacy — as the family of Late Lady Evangelist Henrietta Gbemisola Akinsola (née Ogunbambi) came together to honor her in a spectacular two-day burial ceremony in Lagos. One of the matriach’s children, Elizabeth Olorunyomi, who is US-based, led her other siblings in organizing a fitting send-off that brought together family, friends, and well-wishers from all walks of life.
The event kicked off on Thursday, 26th June 2025, with a solemn Christian Wake in Agege, Lagos. Emotions ran high as tributes flowed in for a woman who was deeply loved not only by her family but by her community and church. On Friday, 27th June 2025, her final journey began at the African Church, All Saints’ Parish, located on Shitta Street, Dopemu, Agege, where a thanksgiving and burial service was held in her honor. The service, which lasted over two hours, was deeply spiritual and moving — a befitting tribute to a devout Christian woman who spent her life serving others.
After the church service, the remains of Mama Henrietta were laid to rest amidst tears, prayers, and praises from her children, grandchildren, and numerous loved ones. But the celebration of her remarkable life did not end there.
The day’s activities continued at the upscale Classique Event Centre in Oregun, Ikeja, where the family hosted a lavish reception party that sparkled with elegance and heartfelt joy. The event hall was beautifully decorated, echoing the dignity and grace Mama Henrietta Akinsola embodied during her lifetime. Guests were treated to good food, lively entertainment, and warm hospitality — all in honor of a woman who gave her all to family, faith, and community.
To keep the atmosphere lively, the S-Part Entertainment Crew delivered back-to-back musical performances, ensuring that the event was anything but somber. A major highlight of the celebration came when Madam Elizabeth and her siblings were invited to the dance floor. With hearts full of gratitude and joy, they danced in memory of their late mother, joined by guests who shared in their celebration of a life well lived.
