How Primate Ayodele foretold emergence of new IGP hours before Egbetokun’s resignation

by Reporter

Prophecies are made based on divine instructions, not when there are situations that look like the prophecy arises. They are not made by calculations, permutations and already available information; rather, they are purely prophetic in nature.

Earlier this morning, around 5 am, during the Tuesday ‘God will not put me to shame’ prayer session, Primate Ayodele, in his usual way of dishing out prophecies, said he foresees the emergence of a new Inspector General of Police.

Meanwhile, this came when there was no rumour or information about the replacement of Kayode Egbetokun. In fact, he is mostly said to be one of Tinubu’s favorites owning to the fact that he has been with the president for several years but the prophet made the statement based on what God showed him.

This was what he said:

“I see a new IGP, A new IGP is going to emerge and many senior officers will go on retirement.”, this was captured in a video seen on his church’s social media page.

Likewise, Primate Ayodele, in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, made it known that there will be changes of service chiefs and the IGP will be changed before the end of 2026. He also mentioned the Chief of army staff among those who would be changed.

These were his words:

“The spirit of the Lord revealed to me that the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, the Chief of Army Staff and some service chiefs will be removed from office before the end of the year,”

“The president will make these changes before the election, except God changes His mind. The decision has been made already. Let the service chiefs and the IGP prepare for this move.”

In a very shocking and surprising move, few hours after the prophet made this prophecy, news started making rounds that the IGP has been removed and replaced with Tunji Disu.

Later on, the presidency stated that IGP Egbetokun has resigned due to family issues, and has been replaced with AIG Tunji Disu.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has accepted the resignation of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, following the submission of his letter citing pressing family considerations.

“President Tinubu received Mr Egbetokun’s resignation earlier today and expressed his profound appreciation for Egbetokun’s decades of distinguished service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation. The President acknowledged his dedication, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to strengthening internal security architecture during his tenure.”

Meanwhile, long before this moment, Primate Ayodele had been talking about the removal of IGP Egbetokun, even though he faced backlashes.

In April 2025, Primate Ayodele called on the IGP to seek the face of God to avoid being removed from office.

“The IGP of Nigeria, Kayode Egbetokun, must seek the face of God to avoid being removed from office.”

In May 2025 during an interview with Sun Newspaper, Primate Ayodele revealed that the IGP will be removed from office.

“I foresee the removal of the Inspector General of police.”

With the resignation of Egbetokun, Primate Ayodele’s prophecy, which he has been talking about for over one year, has been fulfilled.
