The ancient city of Oyo is alive with pomp and celebration today as His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo marks his first coronation anniversary on the throne of the revered Oyo Kingdom.
The occasion has drawn dignitaries, traditional rulers, and cultural enthusiasts, celebrating a year of purposeful leadership, cultural revival, and unity within the kingdom. Activities lined up include traditional displays, royal processions, and other heritage-rich events befitting the Alaáfin stool.
Within just one year, Oba Abimbola Owoade I has reinforced the significance of the institution through youth engagement, cultural preservation, and advocacy for development across Oyo.
Joining numerous well-wishers, the United Vanguard Club 88 Oyo has also congratulated Kabiyesi on this milestone. In its goodwill message, the Club commended the monarch’s impactful reign, noting that it has restored pride, unity, and hope among the people.
