Details Of The Star-Studded Event
On Sunday 3rd December, 2023 the premises of the Tafawa Balewa Square, precisely Car Park 2 was shut down. The large space was full of life as Alhaji Ismaila Aigoro and his siblings hosted their guests to an after-burial party in celebration of their beloved late mother, Alhaja Bilahu Aduke Aigoro who passed unto glory at the gracious age of 96 years on October 11th, 2023. She was survived by children, grandchildren and great grand children. Prominent among them are Lagos NURTW chieftain, Alhaji Ismaila Aigoro; Hon. Musiliu Aigoro, the Lagos Audit Service Commissioner; Abibat Sherifat Abeni Osisanwo; Alhaja Wosilat, and Mrs. Idayat. They all mounted 4 mighty marquee tents which hosted their guests, many of whom are top socialites and celebrities, who stormed the occasion to identify with the Aigoros over a life well spent by their mother.
The event was anchored by the wave making Prince Ladega who did well in entertaining the guests and the hosts as well as offering rib cracking jokes to make everyone feel at home and have a fulfilled moment. Opening the floor to entertain the audience was the Veteran Akewi, Ayo Ewebiyi popularly known as Mama Akewi. She has indeed stepped up her stage craft. She did remarkably well by entertaining the massive crowd while she sang the eulogy of the deceased after which she sang-praised her surviving children for giving their mother a befitting burial.
Dazzling on the stage was the fuji music band of Kolade Onanuga. The singer had a great show as he sang for hours to entertain the Aigoros and their guests who came to cheer them on while dancing. It was celebration night for all. The Aigoro family is very prominent in Lagos Island. Their family house is located on a highbrow area in Lagos Island. The occasion was attended by friends, well-wishers, socialites, professionals and political associates such as members of the All Progressives Congress and a high-powered team of the Lagos State branch of NURTW led by MC Oluomo.
Notable among the long list of special dignitaries who attended the occasion include: the Chief of Staff to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Mrs. Opeyemi Akindele, SSA to the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; Senator Tokunbo Abiru sent someone to represent him; the Are Ona Kankanfo, Otunba Ganiyu Adams and his Osi; Chief Gani Kayode Balogun Jnr. Hon. Segun Agbaje; Hon. Saheed Ibikunle- Member SUBEB Board;Â the Asogbon of Lagos and his beautiful Olori; popular socialite, Wale Saubana; Barr. Doyin Banjo; Asipa of Itele; Chief Mrs. Balogun; Otunba Akinduro Ibesanmi; Hon. Abiodun Aigbe, Mr. Ajayi Adisa, Vice Chairman Ikosi/Isheri; Prince Ade Adesanya; Hon. Oladele Ajayi; Chief Mrs. Victoria Perrygrino; Dr. Niyi Adeleye; Chief Dr. Olusegun Dave Oladoyin; Mr. Adesuyi Onikoyi; Mrs. Folake Murtala; Mr. Rotimi Adeboye.
Stealing the show at the occasion were members of the Gbobaniyi Ladies Club of Oniba Ekun Town. They had a massive attendance and lit up the party as they came to rally round Alhaja Folashade Asuramu, wife of Alhaji Ismail Aigoro to celebrate a life well spent by her late mother-in-law.
