The 1981 graduating set of Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Students Association (CAGSOSA ’81) is set to roll out a four-day homecoming and reunion programme to mark its 45th anniversary, with a rich blend of social, religious, educational, sporting and community-focused activities scheduled for 30th July to 2nd August 2026, in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State.

The anniversary celebration, under the leadership of the Set’s President, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, the first female and immediate past Accountant-General of the Federation, is expected to attract members of the 1981 set from across Nigeria and the diaspora, as well as former teachers, old students, traditional rulers, students of the school, friends and other distinguished guests.

The four-day reunion, according to the programme released by the planning committee, led by Mr. Dayo James AKERELE, is designed to celebrate 45 years of friendship, shared memories, personal and professional accomplishments, service and enduring commitment to the development of their alma mater and the wider community.

The celebration will commence on Thursday, 30th July, with the arrival of members and a Meet and Greet Session, setting the stage for a memorable reunion of old classmates and friends after decades of shared experiences and remarkable journeys.

Activities will enter full swing on Friday, 31st July with a Rally and Visits to Traditional Rulers scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This will be followed by a Career Talk with students of Christ Apostolic Grammar School from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for members of the set to inspire and mentor the younger generation by sharing their wealth of professional experiences and life lessons.

In the spirit of inclusivity and interfaith fellowship, the programme will continue with a Jumat Service at Iperu Central Mosque from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., before giving way to a Novelty Football Match at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Playing Field between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The day’s activities will climax with a colourful Gala Night, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Iperu-Remo, where members and invited guests will gather for an evening of celebration, entertainment and fellowship.

The Grand Finale will take place on Saturday, 1st August at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Multi-Purpose Hall, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Among the major highlights of the Grand Finale will be the commissioning of anniversary projects undertaken by the 1981 set as part of its contribution to the development and advancement of the alma mater.

The occasion will also witness the recognition and celebration of old teachers and members of the set in appreciation of their invaluable contributions, sacrifices and enduring impact on the lives of the students and the institution.

Another major highlight will be the launching of the 45th Anniversary Compendium, a commemorative publication expected to chronicle the history, memories, milestones, experiences and achievements of members of the 1981 graduating set over the past four and a half decades.

The anniversary celebration will also feature the cutting of the 45th Anniversary Cake, with a special fundraising session, followed by a Wine and Dine and an Anniversary Dance.

The four-day celebration will come to a close on Sunday, 2nd August, with a Thanksgiving Service at Christ Apostolic Church, Iperu-Remo, commencing at 10:00 a.m.

Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, President of the CAGSOSA ’81 Set, is a distinguished old student of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu-Remo, and made history as the first female Accountant-General of the Federation before completing her tenure as the immediate past occupant of the prestigious office.

The 45th anniversary celebration is expected to be more than a reunion, as it will provide an opportunity for members of the set to reconnect, celebrate their individual and collective accomplishments, honour those who contributed to their journey, give back to their alma mater and renew their commitment to the values instilled in them during their formative years at Christ Apostolic Grammar School.

Presidents of various Sets  and other key stakeholders have been invited to join in celebrating the landmark occasion and the enduring legacy of the institution.
