A few days ago, when HRH Oba Olatunde Ogini (JP) the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa hosted City People @ 25 in Ibadan, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Adewole (OFR), the Owa Ajero of Ijero kingdom in Ekiti State who was one of the special guests of honour announced the conferment of a chieftaincy title on City People Publisher, Dr Seye Kehinde.
He made the man everyone calls S.K his new Otunba. He gave S.K a honourary chieftaincy title usually bestowed on accomplished individuals in society.
He is now the Otunba Gbobaniyi of the Ijero kingdom, for his remarkable contributions to society and humanity and for distinguishing himself in his chosen profession of Journalism.
It was Otunba Demola Popoola, a leading Ekiti politician, who is from Ekiti State who pleaded with the Owa to honour Seye Kehinde with a title from his domain, in appreciation of his accomplishments. Otunba Demola was a special guest at the event.
The Owa Ajero who will be celebrating his 30th year coronation anniversary on the throne in December revealed that he is happy to have Dr. Seye Kehinde join his Chiefs. In his words, “I thank you for accepting the chieftaincy title of Otunba Gbobaniyi of Ijero kingdom from us… I hope & pray that this will be the beginning of a lasting fruitful and mutually beneficial relationship between us”.
