- As His Wife’s Uncle Seriki Of LAGOS@ 80th Birthday
All roads led to the City HallĀ on Friday, 2nd December 2016, as the 7th Seriki of Lagos, Alhaji Nurudeen Shita-Bey, celebrated his 80th birthday. The event, which was planned by Subtle Elegantly and coordinated by MSK EVENT had guests from all walks of life, who came to show love to the patriarch of the Shita-Bey family.
Coincidentally, the host is the uncle of Modupe Oguntade, theĀ pretty wife of rtd Justice Olusola Oguntade. He and his wife, led a powerful delegation of prominent Nigerians such as Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and his 3 pretty Olooris, Alhaji Rasak Okoya and his younger brother, Dr. Tajudeen Okoya, and hisĀ pretty wife, Rasheddat; Sir Olu Okeowo and his wife, Adejoke; Alhaja Kuburat Akube and a host of others to the event.
The celebratorās successful children flew in from abroad. They were led by the first child,Ā Bola Shita-Bey, while Folasade Adekoya, Jide Shita-Bey, Kemi Erinle and Segun, Funmi Abiola and Deji Abiola, Dayo Shita-Bey, Sherif Shita-Bey also came with their large number of guests. Their tables were a beehive of activities, as many guests couldnāt take their eyes off the children of Alhaji Shita-Bey.
He is one of the respected Lagos society men, who believes so much in education and spares no effort to make sure his children are well educated.
A socialite par excellence, the celebrator, who belongs to many Lagos social clubs such as Eko Club, Island Club, also played host to members of many A-list clubs. Island Club members were led by Mr Dipo Okpeseyi, who is the Chairman of the club. The celebrator was a foundation member of Eko Club. He was also the Secretary of Eko Club, 41 years ago. Yet many successors have not been able to meet his standard till date.
The wife of the host, Mrs. Modupe Shita-Bey, also flew in from London to support her husband of more than 40 years. There was no doubt that the coupleās love is waxing stronger with age as the wife beamed with smile, while the event lasted.
The Blue-and-Royal blue event, which lasted for many hours had Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Mrs Bukola Agoro, Hajia LaraBA Ibrahim, Bisoye Lawal, Kehinde Ashimi, Saheed Omobolaji, Rabiu Oluwa, Olufunke Ogunlayo, Alhaja Abayomi, Taiwo Layeni, Mrs. Omolara Ogunsanya, Kunle Carew, Chief and Mrs Mayegun, Mrs. Bisi Adeko, Mrs. Mubaraq and many others.
Music was supplied by Faith Band, while gifts were freely shared by Mrs. Modupe Oguntade to more than 200 guests.
Justice Olusola Oguntade and his wife of many years, Modupe were one of Nigeriaās respected celebrity couple. The couple are always hot item together that many new couple watch them with admiration. They are not just well loved they are also an epitome of what a successful marriage should look like.
Perhaps one thing that people love about this couple is that they will always attend parties in each otherās company. Justice Olusola Oguntade love for his wife is so captivating that the only thing that will make you not have the duo at your event is if one of them is out of town. Though Modupe Oguntade job as an educationalist takes her time, yet she is always available to take care of her home .She is not just a pillar of support to her husband, she has a way of warming the heart of many of the Oguntades who love her for who she is and what she stands for.
Penultimate Friday 2nd of December 2016, Justice Oguntade and his wife were not just guests at one of Lagos society Patriarch, Alhaji Nurudeen Shita-bey 80th birthday in Lagos, they were there becauseĀ Alhaji Nurudeen Shita-bey, the 7th Seriki Musulumi is the Uncle of Rtd Justice Olusola Oguntade`s wife, Chief Mrs Modupe Oguntade. They were not just an early caller at the event, they came with many guest and had a reserved table at the special high table.
The event kicked off as early as 3pm after the Muslim Jumat service at the spacious City Hall event centre in Lagos Island had many personality from all walks of Life who came to show love to the new Octogenarian. The hall was filled to capacity as early as few minutes after 2pm while they awaited the arrival of the celebrant and his adorable wife of over 40years, Mrs Modupe Shita-bey. She flew all the way from London to felicitate with her husband, the Seriki of Lagos.
The celebrant, Alhaji Nurudeen Shita-bey clad in Muslim flowing jalamia style attire was joined by Mrs Modupe Oguntade at the entrance as she held his hand as they walked in to greet the guest. Mrs Oguntade looked glamorous in a royal blue lace matched with a well wrapped baby pink siego. Bola Shita-Bey, Folasade Adekoye, Jide Shita-Bey, Kemi Erinle, Funmi Abiola, Dayo Shita-Bey, and Sherif Shita-Bay who are the children of the celebrant wore the same attire as their mom. Though the celebrant is Mrs Oguntade`s Uncle but there was no doubt that she was well loved by the entire Shita-Bey family. She was accorded the respect of being the first child of the celebrant as family pictures were not completed without her. Even the children of the celebrant who are successful in their chosen career love her to the bone.
The guests of Justice Oguntade and his wife included Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and his Oloris, Sir Olu-okeowo and his pretty wife, Adejoke, Alhaji Rasak Okoya and his senior wife, Alhaja Kuburat Okoya, Chief Mrs Sade Okoya Mother, Alhaja Kuburat Hassan and many others.
While guests were still in doubt on the relationship betweenĀ Justice Olusola Oguntade`s wife and the celebrant, her husband who played a major role at the event during the cutting of the cake explained that, he is more than happy to be at the event to show love to his pretty wife, Uncle. In his words “ the celebrant, I want to remind you about an incident that happened about 60years ago. I first met my wife, Dupe through her uncle in 1961 when she was a toddler. She was one of those who came to see her Uncle `ENS` off as he proceeds on his education trip abroad. God surely works in a mysterious way. I thank God that I am here today to see him celebrating his 80th birthday.Ā Coincidentally ENS and I went to almost the same school in Ijebu-Ode.Ā I went to Ijebu-Ode secondary school in 1954 and he was in Enuwa College in Ijebu-Ode. Happy birthday to you“. he explained.
His pretty wife who watched with admiration as he gave his speech during the cutting of cake also added that, “This is my Daddy, we call him `ESIKISI SIR` AND HIS WIFE “ESIKISI ( excuse Ma) MA“. I HAVE KNOWN THEM SINCE BIRTH. I STILL HAVE THE PICTURE I TOOK WITH him when he was leaving Nigeria for London to study. Then they went by ship and I was with him at the Apapa Whalf. Happy birthday sir, she revealed.
