APC, AMOTEKUN, Asiwaju Bola Tinibu,

A popular progressive group in the southwest, Asiwaju Youth Mandate, has commended the All Progressives Congress national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his stand on the crisis surrounding the newly birthed South-Western local security outfit, Amotekun.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, suggested ways to resolve the disagreement between the President Buhari government and Southwest governors over Amotekun. He noted that the best way is for the two sides to enter into private discussions; that either the governors should seek an official but private meeting with the Attorney-General, or the Attorney-General can initiate the contact.

Asiwaju Youth Mandate, in a statement released on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 backed the submission of the national leader and implore all concern parties to deliberate over the issue.
The statement partly reads;

“The Asiwaju Youth Mandate group wishes to reiterate the position of our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Amotekun saga. We believe that the federal government has no intention to suppress the Southwest and do not see malign intent in the differences of opinion between the South West Governors as authors of Amotekun and the Attorney-General of the federation as the primary law enforcement officer of the Federal Government.
We commend our leader for his courage and unifying spirit to come out, clear the air and call for a peaceful resolution between the attorney general and the protagonist of the local security outfit called Amotekun.
We had no doubt that your leadership endowment will see us through the era of the next level and take Nigeria to our desired end.
The movement also calls for calm amidst call for protest and dissolution from both parties.
