Within the Christian fold, some pastors were privileged to have heard God told them about what Nigeria is currently going through from the pandemic and national unrest ravaging the world as it stands now. It has affected the world that most people now resort to God to take control. The past months has been ravaged by this outbreak with many other national problems which could be likened to the pestilence been mentioned in the bible and also some school of thought termed it to be the end times as the book of revelation in the bible revealed. But one of the most privileged pastors to have seen and heard from God about this national unrest is the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Pastor DK Olukoya. He is also one of the most respected pastors in Nigeria.
In his crossover sermon last December 2019, he revealed what God told him about 2020, he likened what will happen in the year 2020 to a pestilence which ravaged a city in the bible, he also spoke about the national unrest that is currently happening in Nigeria now, he gave clear instructions on what to do and how to turn things around. The founder and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, released 30 prophecies for the year 2020. Olukoya, who tagged 2020 as the ‘year of Revival and New Glory, urged Nigerians to pray because the year would be messy and confusing.
According to him, many leaders would be shifted away. In the prophecy, he mentioned, 2020 will be a year where round the clock prayers are needed against national restlessness, political and economic confusion, a year where Hot prayers are required in 2020. This year 2020 would be messy and confusing, it is a Year when some many leaders would be shifted away, 2020 would be an up and down year, Year that the Lord shall tear in pieces the kingdom of those boasting against him, The Lord would bring a fresh start for a lot of people, Year when the Lord shall dash to pieces kingdom of evil rulers”.
He also spoke specifically on what can be done to avert such reoccurrence till the end of the year. At the weekly revival service tagged manna Water service, a day after the Lekki shootings incident, Wednesday 21st October 2020, he spoke on the issue specifically.
In his words,
“Eph. 5:16 – “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”We are really living in evil days. But it is unrealistic if we think everyday life is full of rainbow and sunshine. Beloveth, the whole world is going through chaotic times now as the Lord spoke at the Cross Over prayer meeting; Nigeria is passing through one right now. Our dear beloved youth are out there fighting for change and betterment. And our duty as Christians is to pray for things to take the right direction. I believe that God is at work. And one thing is certain; despite all these difficulties, Nigeria still has a very good dream. And through our efforts, our prayer, our righteousness, our holiness, I believe that Nigeria will still rise up to live up to the true meanings of these great dreams. It is important that we begin to pray and begin to ask for divine intervention. But listen, Biblical principles of the Almighty God is that the wickedness of the wicked will consume the wicked. Those who shed innocent blood; the Bible says their own blood will certainly be shed. Our hearts and prayers go to Nigerian youths and all others who have been negatively affected by this. May the Lord comfort you and uphold you in this dark period. God bless you in the name of Jesus. The Manna Water meeting today is a different one. We are going to pray for nations of the world; particularly Nigeria. We are going to pray for Christian families. We are going to pray for the church of God. And after that, we pray some prayers for ourselves. And finally, pray on the manna water.
Also at the Sunday service on 25th of October, due to the chaotic situation all around the state, he declared no physical gathering but online services for all its members. He also did not let the happenings passed by without dwelling on it. He says,
The bible says in Luke 1:18, men ought not to pray and not faint. The bible also enjoins that we should pray for our government, country and leaders and we are going to do that in this meeting. The current situation that the whole world is facing calls for strategic prayers and prophetic actions. God has said this year will be a year of restlessness and confusion. The lord also said, it will be a messy year, this was in December during the cross over meeting. We need to urgently get down on our knees and repent before the Lord and cry unto the Lord as a nation. The arson, burning and looting is a wrong reaction to a deeply rooted problem as it solves no problems but will increase the suffering of the masses. I enjoin those getting involved in this kind of thing to repent and stop because it has terrible repercussions, generationally, physically and spiritually. The urgent need now is that true believers particularly in Nigeria should stop responding to this tragedy like the world. Believers should stop pointing accusing fingers, they should stop cursing governments, law enforcement agents and individuals. We are men of another world. The bible calls us peculiar people. We have a different mindset from the mindset of the people of the world. Beloveth the command is loud and clear, the command from heaven is that we should urgently engage in fervent prayers and intercession to ask for mercy, to repent and to ask for divine intervention and I know the Lord will hear us. This is not the time for arguments, debates or just fighting each other unnecessarily. Right now, only one thing we need to do is pray and therefore I enjoin believers to spend the next two weeks praying and fasting for our nation. Everyone regarding of your religion can also join. God bless you all.
