Ibadan, the ancient city of Oyo state , literally went agog last weekend as dignitaries from all over Nigeria and the diaspora flooded the Oluyole enclave for the wedding of the son of one of Nigeria’s top journalists, Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin.
Taofik Adesina Adedoyin, a the US-based first child of kwara ‘s former commissioner for information and education, tied the knots with his UK-based heartthrob, Ifedolapo Joyce Banire at Genesis Suites & Hall, Ibadan.
As befitting of an Oro Kingdom Prince and the pedigree of his father, the wedding attracted the crème la de crème from royalty, media, politics, public service and the general public.

The Reception was chaired by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and communications, Alh. Mahmud Ajeigbe.
National figures at the event included former Governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel( aka OGD), former Minister of Power and Steel and pioneer Corps Marshal/ Chief Executives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr. Olu Agunloye and former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) , Alh. Shuaib Oyedokun, Zonal Director of NTA, Mrs Aduke Oyekunle, Lagos Corporate gurus Yinka Adebiyi and Segun Adewumi, as well as multi-talented consultant, Dr. Dale Ogunbayo.
Present also were current and former cabinet members, senior government officials and members of Kwara state house of assembly team was led by the member representing Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Mathew Babaoye.
From the media community came the executive director of The Sun Newspapers, Mr. Tunji Bolaji, zonal director of of NTA, Ibadan, Mrs Aduke Oyewole, veteran newspaper distributor, Alh. Lasisi Adewuyi( aka Olounyo), the General Manager of KWTV, Prince Abfulfatai Adebowale and the editor of The Herald, Mr. Yomi Adeboye.
A strong royal delegation from Kwara state was led by His Royal Highnessba Abdulrauf Ajiboye Oyelaran1, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom. He was supported by the Oloko of Oko Irese Kingdom, HTH Oba Victor Okuwafemi Olawuyi and the Bale of Ijomu Oro, Chief Abdulganiyu Sulaiman Orimadegun.
Jwarans in the diaspora were represented by two former presidents- Prof. Chris Odetunde and Prof. Femi Ajayi-, Alh. Taju Adeyeye and Hajia Aboyeji, Alh Abdulganiyu Salami and his wife, Hajia Lara Salami.
Class 84 of the department of mass communications, university entourage included the chief imam, Sheikh Bashir Adewara Ibrahim, Alh. Ahmed Okeleye, Alh. Saliu Adekanye, Hon. Kayode Ogunremi, Mr. Ismaila Okeleye, Alh. Tajudeen Adeyemi, Alh. Different political groups from the state also added colour to the occasion. throughout the ceremony.
The youth group was led by the chairman of the Kwara chapter of the national youth council of nigeria and immediate past chairman of TIC in Irepodun LGA, comrade Kazeem Adekanye. His entourage included Hon. Samshudeen Bada, Comrade Sunkami Ereoye, Comrade Mohammed Buhari, Mohammed Nasamu.
In Teamkwara were also current and serving public officers including Alh. Ope Saraki( SSA to the Governor), Alh. Tunde Raheem) Director, Bureau of Land), Alh. Abdulganiyu Opeloyeru( Director, Governor’s office), Alh. Tunde( General Manager, water corporation), Mallam Rufai Ahmed( former SA legal matters to former Governor Bukola Saraki), Prince Wale Olanipekun( former SA yo Gov. Ahmed), Alh. Muda Mustapha.
The groom’s father is the ambassador of Kwarans in the diaspora. Not surprisingly, the leaders of Kwara state association of Nigeria in united states and united kingdom, registered their presence at the event.
In the KSANG delegation were two former presidents- Prof. Chris Odetunde and Prof. Femi Ajayi-, Alh. Taju Adeyeye and Hajia Aboyeji. From London chapter came Alh Abdulganiyu Salami and his wife, Hajia Lara Salami.
Kwara Professionals in Lagos and the class of 1984 set of MassCommunication Department, University of Lagos also graced the occasion.
