•What IBRAHIM MUSA Told City People
Late actress, Aisha Abimbola popularly called Omoge Campus had a younger brother, Ibrahim Musa in her lifetime. He happens to be the spokes person for the family. Last week, he talked to City People BIODUN ALAO about his late sister. Below are his views.
How would you describe the late actress?
I will describe her as the best sister, role model, wonderful sister, best friend, open, I was very close to her, I always feel free to go to her for anything, I will miss her for the rest of my life. I can never have the heart to bear the loss.
Were you aware of your late sister’s ailment? Why did she keep it to herself?
She didn’t keep it to herself. Those who said that said it out of ignorance. She said it out. Family members were aware, and the few good people, she maintained a good relationship with before her death were also aware of the health issue. As you can see the TGMAN was aware and her foundation was established before her death. It is called Aisha Abimbola Cancer Foundation” I don’t really want to say much about that, but she never kept anything to herself as most people feel. She confided in the few people. She feels they are important to her. So anybody saying that is saying that out of ignorance. That’s it.
As a family member, why did you allow her to be buried in Canada?
Actually, I was not in Nigeria when she died, also her kids are very young and we don’t’ want them to come down with her corpse, then going back again, We don’t want to put them through all that stress, moreover, she still has some grown up people in the family, elder sister, elder brother, so you can see, some of them couldn’t make it here today. It’s a custom in Yorubaland that the young shouldn’t be buried by the old, so we were just trying to avoid all that. That was why we all agreed that she should be buried over there.
Can you tell us more about yourself?
My name is Ibrahim Musa, younger brother to late Aisha Abimbola.
Aisha Abimbola Cancer Foundation
According to the younger brother of the late actress the Aisha Abimbola Cancer Foundation was established before her death, but Saidi Balogun stressed more on the fact that, TGMAN as a whole will make sure, the late actress’s dream will never die, as they will see that his dreams are kept alive.
