Meet 10 Nigerian Whose Records Have Not Been Broken

In terms of doing the extraordinary, some humans persons could be called “extraordinary human beings’’ who do things that are sometimes scientifically unexplainable and almost humanly impossible. In the world some of these people are celebrated representing their various countries while the Guinness book of records helps in documenting such “super human beings’. Countries that top the list are American, Asian and the European with just a few blacks on the list. Nigerians have also found their way into the list as they have also done things worthy of accolades.

Below are some of the Nigerians whose records have never been broken;

STEPHEN KESHI

Stephen Keshi is one coach whose presence in the Nigerian football team was greatly applauded even as a player. At his demise, his whole team and Nigeria as a whole could not over emphasis his importance in the Nigerian football history. In breaking records, the late Stephen Keshi made the Guinness book of record in 1994 when he emerged the youngest player to win the African Cup of Nations. After his win, Nigeria is yet to present another player to beat his mark. He did not only win as a player, but upon his election as a coach for the Super Eagles team in 2013; Stephen Keshi again led his team to victory as they won the African Cup of nations title in Johannesburg, South Africa.

KAFFY

Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau is a hip-hop dancer, fitness coach and choreographer in Nigeria popularly called “Kaffy’’. She is also referred to as the ‘’queen of dancing’’ and the “best dancer’’ in Africa, owing to her mind-blowing performance at a television show. Kaffy and her team in 2006 kept all judges and audience in shock as she led the team to dance for 52 hours 3 minutes without taking a break. This led to her major break in the industry as she founded the Imagnito Dance Company to help impact her talents and inspire dancers.

ASETUNWASE ADENLE

Asetunwa Adenle is a classroom teacher, who also made it to the Guinness book of record with no competitor. He broke the record with different rewards to his credit. He was credited first owing to his large painting, which is compared to the size of a football field. He led a team to design a map Nigeria painting. He also broke the record of being the first teacher to simultaneously teach a total of 300,000 students from 600 public schools in Lagos, who were located in different areas.

TUEDON MORGAN

Again in the world of sport, Tuedon Morgan held the flag flying high. Being a female athlete, Tuedon Morgan made the record for being the fastest the athlete to hold the fastest time to run a half marathon on each continent and the North Pole, which lasted for 62 days, 12 hours, 58 minutes and 49 seconds

SIMPLY TASHA

Natasha Akide Abinabo became popular with the name Simply Tasha during her time in the Popular Nigerian reality television show, Big Brother Nigeria.  She became the first big brother Nigerian housemate to appear in the Guinness book of record in 2020 to trend consecutively on twitter for more than 5 months. Ever since this major break, no celebrity in the world has been able to beat this record.

CHIDERA ANAMEGA

Chidera Anamega is a thriving Nigerian musician and rapper, who is based in the United States of America (USA). Chidera Anamega made the list with his performance at the MTV Music Awards held in Los Vegas. He holds the title for the longest rap freestyle, which lasted for 9 hours in the individual category.

OBI AJUONUMA

Obi Ajuonuma popularly called DJ Obi is the Nigerian who broke the world’s record for the longest DJ set, which he achieved by standing behind the stereo for 240 hours at an event in Lagos State, Nigeria.

OLAWUNMI BAYODE

Olawunmi Treasure Bayode also made the records for the longest marathon reading aloud category, which he made by reading out loud for a total of 120 hours.

HARRISON CHINEDU

Harrison Chinedu is a professional footballer, who has played in different teams. In March 2016, Chinedu made the record for walking 48.04 kilometers, which lasted for 6 hours and 15 minutes with a ball on his head.

David Omueye Dafinone

David Omueye is popular Nigerian Chartered Accountant. He made the world record for having the greatest number of chartered accountant in his family. In this category, he is the first and only holder of the title in the Guinness book of record.
