HRM Oba Nurudeen Osoja is in a happy mood right now.This is because he is 14 years on the throne of his forebears.
And he recently revealed how he felt when he became King.
“At the tail end of the 11th month of that year, while schools were preparing to close, government wrapping up the budget year, corporate entities planning to close their books and entrepreneurs counting their gains as the year closes, for the ancient town of Ikogbo, a new chapter was about to open.”
“It was going to be a new beginning, Ikogbo Kingdom would be getting a new head.
A new King would be crowned from Osoja ruling family and I would be that king.”
“The 24th day of November 2007 started with cheers of joy all over Ikogbo Kingdom and echoes of happiness everywhere there’s an Ikogbo print globally.”
“The kingmakers performed the traditional rites and heads began to bow. Kabiyesi o, Kabiyesi o, Kabiyesi o, filled the atmosphere.”
“I should flow with the moment and flaunt my new bragging right but I was drenched in thoughts; how smooth will it be? what lies ahead? how great can this kingdom become in my hands? do I have the divine backing? Rhetorical questions!
