Popular Ibadan based businessman and socialite, Otunba Reuben Famuyi is set to host what could best be described as a mega wedding for his lovely daughter, Ojuolape. Reuben and his wife Erelu Sunmbo Famuyibo are fully prepared to host the creme de la creme of the society this coming weekend in Ibadan.
The wedding between Ojuolape and her beau Adebayo Ibrahim Rasaq (AIR) is slated for 5th, 6th and 7th of July, 2018, respectively. The events will take off on Thursday 5th July with families’ introduction and Praise Hour, at the Famuyibos residence inside Ikolaba GRA, Ibadan. Friday 6th of July is the engagement ceremony at the popular Hall of Grace, Jogor Event Centre, Off Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium) Road, Ibadan.
Evangelist (Chief) Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi is billed to perform at the engagement party. The colour code for the Friday party are Coral for bride and Olive Green for the groom’s side. While the Church wedding holds on Saturday 7th of July,at St. James ‘The Great’ Cathedral, Oke-Bola, Ibadan. After which, all invited guests will be hosted into an elaborate reception at prestigious Casa Lucio Event Centre, 2,British American Tobacco Road, Tollgate Ibadan-Lagos Road, Ibadan. KSA is going to entertain guests at the reception party. Colour codes are shades of Blue and Ivory.
Already, top celebrities as well as notable society women from Lagos, Ibadan and other parts of the world are set to storm the party. There has been rush for the Aso-Ebi and invites, because it is going to be strictly by invitation affairs. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II). Will be the ‘Roya Father’ of the day.
Many other paramount rulers from across the South-West are also expected to grace the occasion. This should be expected as Famuyibo holds 49 chieftaincy tittles from across the Yoruba lands; he is the Ajagungbusi of Ado-Ekiti and Bamofin of Ibadan land just to mention few of his many tittles. Apart from the traditional rulers, dignitaries like the executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State; General Alabi Isama (Rtd), Dr. Niyi Adebayo (former Govof Ekiti), Dr. Olusegun Mimiko (former Governor of Ondo, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala (former Gov. Of Oyo State); Balogun of Owu kingdom, Chief Bolu Akin-Olugbade and many others are coming.
One needs not to be told that the party is going to be glamorous and an exclusive event, giving the calibre of top celebrities who are going to be hosts-Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN); Alhaji Ganiyu Sonubi (Casa Lucio Event Centre boss); Engr. Femi Babalola (Jogor); Chief Kayode Filani; Dr. Femi Afola and others are the list. These are people high quality standard and they are not going to strop at noting, to support their own person (Reuben Famuyibo) in making the party a memorable one.
All these are expected, the two families involved are quite popular, Otunba Reuben Famuyibo is a successful businessman and socialite per excellence. In fact, he is many things rolled into one; a lawyer of over 30 years of experience, politician of note, an accomplished businessman and a socialite, whose connection cut across boards. There is a standard for the Famuyibos parties; the Ekiti-born businessman and his lovely wife, Erelu Sunmbo Famuyibo, a good hostess at that, will not leave any stone unturned to have a befitting wedding for their daughter.
While the groom’s parents, Chief & Mrs. Lanre Rasaq need little or no introduction on the social scene. Chief Lanre Rasaq is a former Commissioner for Works in Lagos State and a prominent businessman from Epe. He is the Balogun of Epe Land. He is a member of Island Club, Tennis Club, the Elites Club and many other Ivy League Social Clubs in Lagos. Prominent members of these clubs will storm Ibadan the Rasakis.
Meanwhile, Ojuolape and Adebayo’ friends from different parts of the world are also expected to grace the occasion. Ojuolape and Adebayo are both lawyers, they met and fell in love with each other some years back, at the prestigious Buckingham University, London. They are both Ex-Presidents of the university. Though Adebayo has a Muslim background, but he is a good Christian in fact, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
