The much awaited Oba Orin Music Challenge, a new talent hunt in Fuji music which is an initiative of a media content providing company, Agodo Asa, but headlined by Fuji music super star, King (Dr.) Saheed Akorede Okunola better known as Saheed Osupa as the Project Ambassador, would hit the airwaves for the entertainment of music lovers globally by December 20th, 2020.
With Ogun State Television (OGTV) being the partnering broadcast media station for the project of which its preliminary stage across the South-West States of Nigeria had been on for some weeks and ended on Tuesday, December 8th in Lagos, OGTV channels on DSTV, GOTV and Startimes would begin to air the activities of the 18 finalists, 3 from each state, who made it from the 6 states of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos States, who would now be tutored on rudiments of music by Saheed Osupa.
Proudly sponsored by Origin Herbal Gin, Apex Fabrics, Brilliant Coat Paint, Zangalo Haulage, T & K Ventures, as well Ogun State Government being the Host State for the Grand Finale of the innovative music project, Saheed Osupa, according to the lead organiser of the project and main brain behind Agodo Asa, Olusegun Lasile, would be expected to be in camp with the 18 finalists as an in house coach in the next stage after the preliminaries.” King Dr. Saheed Osupa would be with the 18 finalists on Monday, 14th December, 2020, as the in house coach to take them on the rudiments of music in particular with sessions on music composition, stage management, praise singing, recording experience etc.,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, the 18 lucky contestants who made it to the next stage from rigorous preliminaries include: Seun Ayinde Kaabah, Bakare Rasaq and Olaleke Iyanda from Ogun State, Adeyemi Gbadebo, Wasiu Akanji, and Salimon Bolanle Balogun from Oyo State, Ilesanmi Sogo, Dauda Adam Alani and Tunde Olowookere from Osun State, Nurudeen Atanda Suraj, Afolabi Olajide and Kabiru Ajibola from Ondo State, Bukola Afolabi, Olayemi Kehinde Akorede and Wakili Saheed Aremu from Ekiti State, and Olakanse Muhammed, David Abiola and Toheeb Ramon from Lagos State, to cap up the 6 states from the South-West.
According to the feelers reaching this magazine, the contestants emerged after a very free and fair process where Panel of Judges made up of 3 individuals who understand and appreciate the rudiments of music, especially Fuji music, examined all the applicants into the project from the aforementioned 6 states, by asking them to sing acapella and free styles first, before the best 10 from that point were given different spontaneous topics to sing on for predetermined minutes. And it was the best 3 from the spontaneous singing stages from each state who have, reportedly, made it to the Grand Finale taking place in Ogun State.
The winner would go home with a branded car, recording deal and 1 year fuelling, 1st runner up would be rewarded with 1 Million Naira cash, and 2nd runner up would smile home with 500 Thousand Naira cash, at the end of the talent hunt designed for duration of 3 months.
