Speaking at a brief media parley shortly before the official opening of the place the other week, Chairman, RIL, Dr Ebun Bamgboye said the idea was conceived to address the problem of rising demands for entrepreneurs, learners and researchers to fulfil their career obligations using a standard office platform in a commercially sophisticated setting without outright sourcing of office complex from firms.
This, he said, would help in addressing the quest for office space in a competitive business hub.
“In recent years, there has been a significant shift in the nature of how we work and interact, with open and more relaxed work spaces emerging. That trend has accelerated in the last 12 months as businesses are increasingly open to flexible work options for their staff.
“This disruption of work and the unavailability of large funds to rent an office in a commercial area has led to the increasing demand for c-work spaces by start up entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote employees. This supply gap of affordable functional workspaces is heightened by the absences of sufficient libraries and a serene atmosphere for study and research in strategic locations all over the country but moreso in commercial city centers.

In his own remarks, the MD/CEO of RIL, Olusoji Oyawoye, while speaking on sustainability of standard that the company has set and maintenance of facilities in place, stated that the company won’t compromise on quality services and the high standard.
“This is the fourth of this facility, the first one is three years old. It has not become profitable yet. And we had opened three others. That is not what a businessman does. If you go to the first one, three years after, it is exactly as this new one. theBUNKer Abuja, theBUNKer Lekki and theBUNKer Yaba are all the same. The focus for us is not profit now. We are building business to outlive us. When we are gone, they will still remain. When you do that, then maintainance is key. But a typical businessman won’t think that way.”
