The Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission has said no fewer than 23,000 applications are jostling to fill the 1,000 available spaces in the state civil service.
Chief Kune Igoni-Claudius, Commissioner in the commission disclosed this during the launch of the commission’s website today in Yenagoa.
He said out of the 23,000 applications that were issued, more than 12,000 applicants returned their duly completed forms.
The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson said the unveiling of the website would further engendered transparency in the state government employment process.
He assured that the government would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that qualified Bayelsans are engaged based on merit and not sentiments.
