Wife, MISTURA
Clad in white lace while mourning at her husband’s residence a few days back, one of Baba Alado’s wives, Mistura said her wish now is for Allah to repose her late husband’s soul. “I want Allah to preserve a special place for him in Al Jannah and forgive his sins,” she told City People, her voice laden with emotion.
Mistura, who had been with Baba Alado for years described him not as the powerful Olori Ebi of Alagbeji Royal Family, Akinrogun of Isolo Kingdom and Babaloja of Aswani Market that the public knew, but as a kind and responsible family man. “My husband was a very nice person. People outside may fear him but inside the house, he was nice to a fault,” she said.
“He does not joke with his children. He does not joke with us at all. That was the first thing I noticed about him when I married him,his children were everything to him. Their school fees, their welfare, their feeding, he never joked with it. He would provide everything before you even ask.”
Asked what her final prayer for her husband is, Mistura folded her hands and looked to the sky.”My prayer is that Allah should forgive all his shortcomings, forgive his sins, and preserve a special place for him in Al Jannah Firdaus. He tried for us. He tried for everybody in Mushin, in Isolo, in Isheri. May Allah reward him with Al Jannah.”
“May Allah continue to rest your soul,Taoreed, son of Ajinah.Allah should take your soul and you shall not suffer wherever you are.All of us that you left behind, from the smallest to the biggest, may evil never befall us”, Mistura remarked
What would you miss most about him? “His fatherly advice despite him being my husband. He would say Mistura, be serious with your business, look after it, don’t leave it for anyone and he was damn generous too. He trained all his children very well. I have never seen anyone who trains and commits so much into training children like Alado. Some people have money but can’t train their children. I am happy I met him”. I know he is happy where he is. Allah will preserve a special place for him.”
As the clerics concluded the Du’a and guests filed out of the Alado compound on this day, Mistura remained seated beside her co-wives, whispering prayers for the man who, for her, was simply a nice person who loved his children more than himself.
