•His Friend, Sheikh K. K. OLOSHO Reveals
It’s already 25 years since Nigeria lost an icon to the cold hands of death. Professor Moshood Abiola Peller gave up the ghost on the 2nd of August, 1997.
Professor Peller was unarguably the best Magician of African origin. He was very popular in his days and his name was already cast in stone for his breath-taking magical prowess. After his death up till date, Africa hasn’t had any magician as great as the late Professor Peller.
Few weeks ago, family, friends and associates of the legendary Professor stormed Iseyin, the hometown of the late Professor to remember him 25 years after he died. During the prayer session, lots of encomiums were showered on him as many people related the fond experiences they had with the late magician. Topical among what was said about the life and times of Professor Peller was the detailed account given by his close friend, Islamic cleric and academic don, Professor Kamil Olosho. He revealed a lot about the mystery behind his magical prowess. The testament was said in Yoruba but City People did the exact translation transleted what the Professor said into English Language. Read and enjoy:

“Professor Moshood Abiola Peller was a world renowned magician. He was trained in the act by a great Magician in India. Professor Peller has travelled round the globe to perform magic which serves as a form of entertainment. He was a well- celebrated magician.
“I’m an Islamic scholar while late Prof. Peller was a magician. He was a devoted muslim who never joked with his daily obligatory prayers. I can boldly say he was much more conscious and observant of the time of prayer than me who claimed to be an alfa. There were many times I tried to delay him from observing his prayers, giving him excuses and reason to tarry a bit, but he would insist on sticking to the due time of each prayer.I could recall many occasions that Peller and I would embark on journey from his residence at Onipanu, Lagos down to Ibadan. Whenever it’s time for a prayer, he would always call my attention for the need to stop by, pull over and observe our prayer. It was just as if he had something in him which notified him that it was time for every prayer. A number of times I would try to convince him to let us get to Ibadan before we pray but he was always insisting we pray in its due time. This showed his high level of devotion to God. It is a known fact that God doesn’t delay the rewards of the righteous. You would notice he died a holy man. Those that assassinated him studied him well to strike him while he was observing his prayer. They thought killing him while praying was hurting but they never imagined that they had done him a great favour. In Islam, whoever died in a state of observing prayer will have all his sins forgiven.
“I know a lot about late Professor Peller’s magic and I will reveal the mystery behind it. We were very close friends. He was a no-nonsense man. There was a day he gave me a taste of his magic. He gave me a robe to blindfold him. I first used the robe to blindfold myself and I couldn’t see anything. Then I blindfolded him and ensured he wasn’t seeing at all. He took me inside his car and drove me to Asejire and from there back to Ibadan while he was still blindfolded. While he was driving, I was perplexed and very scared. Then I began chanting a number of invocations to seek God’s safety.
“Another worthwhile experience I had with the great Professor Peller was not in Nigeria but far away in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We both went for Umurrah (lesser pilgrimage Haji). I took Professor with me on a visit to the then Imam of Mecca, …who was succeeded by Sheikh Sudais. I also took him to Sheikh Al-Huthaify, a prominent Quran reciter. The two scholars confirmed to me that Professor Peller was indeed a great and world renowned magician. In the meantime, I persuaded them to rebuke him from doing magic but they told me to let him be that when it’s the right time God wants to relieve him of the act, it would come willingly. But they assured me that Professor Peller would die a great and righteous man. I swear with the name of the Most High, all this I am saying is true and exactly what happened in Mecca.
“We then proceeded to the Holy Prophet’s Mosque in the City of Medina, Though we never planned to stay long in Medina, Peller told me he wished to pay a close visit to the grave of the Prophet (SAW) but I told him that wasn’t possible as no one is allowed to come close to the grave. I quickly called the attention of a military guard around to make Peller understand that it was impossible to get close to the place. Then Peller told me that I would see the wonders of God. So, he proceeded to the place while I told him I would be waiting for him whenever he came back. I sat back and went on reciting the Quran. Not long after, when Military guard came to tell me that my friend had been allowed access to the Prophet’s grave but requested I come with him. I was so glad that I quickly rushed to join him. How he achieved that I couldn’t explain. That was how we were allowed into the prophet’s grave where he made lots of supplications.
“When it was time to leave for Nigeria, We had booked our ticket from Medina to Jeddah. By the time we got to Jeddah, we rushed to catch our flight back home. While boarding the flight, Peller remembered he left his magic staff in custody of the guards at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. They had collected it from him at the entrance of the mosque. He exclaimed and called my attention to that. I told him we need to disembark and rush back to the mosque in Medina to get the staff. Peller told me not to worry too much. God being my witness, at Jeddah, I was hurrying him to quickly take the next flight to Medina but he was calm. He then told me not to worry, we will meet his staff in the hotel room where we lodged in Jeddah. Not wanting to believe what I heard, I asked him what he said and he said we will meet his staff right in our hotel room in Jeddah. I was eager to see for myself because I couldn’t believe him. I exclaimed; how possible was that?
“The hotel we lodged at Jeddah was a 2-bedroom suite and by the time we entered the sitting room, we met the magic staff there. Then I said Prof. is that not your staff? I quarried to know how he achieved that and he answered by saying is ‘God not capable of doing all things? ‘So I became speechless. With this, coupled with how Professor Peller died, I finally concluded that he was indeed a special being from God.
“He was well received in all the places we both visited in Mecca, Jeddah, and Medina. People hovered around him as they do around celebrities. At one point I felt intimidated. I was his Alfa who brought him to the holy land but was quite surprised with the kind of recognition he got from the people. I later went to him, bowing my head requesting him to pray for me which he did.
“Professor Peller died on a significant day. It was the day 3 great men in Nigeria died. It was the day Fela Anikulapo died. It was also the same day Sheikh Ibrahim Olorungbebe died and that was quite remarkable.”
