Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi has expressed excitement after scoring his first goal in Leicester City ’s 3-1 win over Derby County in their FA Cup fourth round replay at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The 20-year-old midfielder came in as a substitute in the 91st minute for Nampalys Mendy, and scored the all important second goal in the 95th minute, before Demarai Gray sealed the victory for the Foxes.
The midfielder was also thankful for winning the Belgian goal of the year award in 2016 – thanks to his screamer for Genk against Club Brugge.
“Last night was a good one I scored my first goal for my team Leicester and I was awarded goal of the year 2016 in Belgium wow, #it can only be God.” Ndidi tweeted.’
Ndidi will be hoping to take his goal scoring form to the Liberty Stadium when they visit Swansea on Sunday.
Claudio Ranieri’s men are one point from the relegation zone with 21 points from 24 games to place 16th on the English topflight log.
