Despite the Coronavirus pandemic that has caused havoc to the world economy, real estate seems to be unperturbed, especially Lagos, Nigeria where real estate is one of the major contributors to the economy. Many big players in the real estate sector have been complaining about the pandemic and how it’s affecting them negatively. But the reverse is the case for some players who have recorded larger sales during the pandemic. In fact, some of them even said they made more money during the lockdown than any other period.
But the most amazing thing is that the females are equally doing well despite the crisis. These female players have distinguished themselves. Many of them have the companies they run. During the pandemic, many of them made a lot of sales. They have subscribers in Nigeria and from the diaspora. They are the toast of developers.
This week we would be writing on 10 real estate players who have made huge sales during a pandemic.
MRS. BISI OGUNWALE
Mrs. Bisi Ogunwale is the CEO, Abule Sowo Realtors. Mrs. Bisi Ogunwale has over 15 years of experience in the real estate. She is a real estate Saleslady and that explains how she has been the most Successful Serial Entrepreneured woman in the Lagos real estate industry.

She has won several accolades and awards as best selling agent to many companies and this stands her out among her contemporaries. During the lockdown, this energetic woman made a lot of millions. MRS. BOLANLE OGIDAN
She’s is the CEO of Mcdedict Homes Limited, a real estate company she founded a few years ago. This young woman is a passionate entrepreneur with over 9 years of experience, starting and running businesses in Lagos and handling transactions worth a combined value of $20 million.

MRS. ALABA ALOZIE
Alaba Elizabeth Alozie, CEO of Lasgidi Realtors Ltd, is another energetic woman we should talk about. This woman is equally equal to this task. She has had a successful career in Real Estate for over 5 years. Mrs. Alaba has 5 years experience as a real estate agent and broker in five states and serves as a principal broker and consultant to other real estate professionals on management, marketing and sale of real estate products and services, with special skills in survey and title documentation. She definitely has that as an added advantage. Her name rings a bell whenever it’s mentioned in and out of Lagos. She is also the toast of many big real estate players who want their property sold as quickly as possible. She has also won several accolades in the past for her doggedness in the sector.

OBIANUJU CHINWUBA
Obianuju Chinemerem Chinwuba is best described as an Entrepreneur par excellence who has been very active in people empowerment. She is tenacious and God fearing. She is self-driven, dedicated and pays close attention to details. Over the years, Obianuju has worked in the NGO sector, the media and the event sector. She has experience in public speaking, training, writing as well as consulting. Her passion for developing people and seeking to provide solutions to problems contributed towards her desire to become an entrepreneur. Obianuju is an alumnus of the prestigious Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan African University.
Her journey into the real estate business was born out of her strong desire to own real estate but was constrained financially; however, she was even more determined to demystify this so-called myth called real estate. This has led to her continued success story and she has continued to develop other people and empower them in the business and they are also excelling.
Obianuju has built great teams over the years showing her excellent team spirit and her ability to lead. In 2006/2007 she led a team of 25 who worked on the Nigeria 2025 project that was designed to develop a series of scenarios on how Nigeria could evolve in the future, thereby painting images of plausible trajectories for the evolution of the country until the year 2025. SAADIYA ALIU
She is the Chief Operation Officer (COO) of the real estate empire, Urban Shelter LTD.
Saadiya Aliu became passionate about poverty alleviation and developmental issues while working at the Debt Management Office, Nigeria.
Her ambition is to provide affordable housing, tackle housing deficit by giving room for flexible payment structure and innovative means of delivery.
ADEFUNKE ADEYEMI
She is a lawyer and an aviation expert who loves to travel and has a high interest in real estate.
Adefunke worked in Virgin Atlantic before she joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and became the Regional head of Member and External relations. She also heads the Women in Leadership initiative of IATA in Africa and the Middle East.Real Estate became a source of income for her after using her proceeds in Virgin Atlantic to purchase a property.
MODUPE ANJOUS
She is the CEO of Rydal Mews Limited and also the brain behind the promise to own initiative
ENGR. MADUKA JOANNA
She was the first female fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), the first female COREN registered Engineer and the first female Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
She founded Friends of the Environment (FOTE) in 1993 with objectives in the areas of renewable energy, waste management and empowerment of women.
ENGR. (DR.) BECKY OLUBUKOLA ESTHER
She is the President and Group Managing Director of BSTAN Group. In this role, Dr. Becky oversees Bstan Construction Limited, Bstan Mortgage and Cooperatives, Bstan Securities, Bstan Agro, Bstan Cleaning Services and Bstan Homes and Properties, which, combined have employed approximately well over 300 staff and with offices in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ekiti and Ghana. She leads a reputable Real Estate Firm, which has completed more than 15,000 housing units in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Dr. Becky graduated as a Civil Engineer from the prestigious University of Benin with an MBA in Estate Management and Construction and recently bags a PhD in Civil Engineering and Housing and Estate Management. She has been a major advocate for the MDG goal for Housing deficit in Africa with her focus on Nigeria. This has earned her a seat at the table of members of the Presidential Committee on Housing Sector and Construction. Dr. Becky is a certified member of COREN, a chattered fellow member of Project Management Institute (PMI), Quality Assurance & Quality Control QA/QC, a Member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE).
