YOU BROKE THE ALABASTER BOX, POURED IT ON JESUS’ HEAD AND THE WHOLE WORLD IS FILLED WITH THE FRAGRANCE OF YOUR PERFUME. Mark 14:3.

Why Am I Writing?

But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief. Job 16:5 KJV

A tribute allows us reflect on our memories in a special way, showcase the uniqueness of a loved one, honour the good memories of a loved one and make the funeral a HEALING experience.

Music can really speak to the heart at a time like this, So I will volunteer to sing two of your favorite songs in your sweet memories “Emi ko lese kemi mayin Oluwa” and “Ijo ba orun lere onigbagbo o”.

Flowers are a unique way of tributes so I will ask my Beautiful Wife Adetutu to send in your favorite flowers. To be sure its your favourite I will ask Yinyinade Dania and Auntie Titi Adenuga to do the same in your honour. We won’t hold back in any way in making your departure glorious in Excellence.

Eulogies is often said to be the biggest tributes of all and will like to make mine very personal.

My fondest memories of you was last year when you were organising Taiye Aluko’s 50th Birthday. I got a call from you asking me to officiate at her Jubilee Birthday and also play a role or two at the two events.

Honestly, this experience with you left an indelible imprint on my heart. Apart from Adetutu, My Bestie, I haven’t been that honoured in my life. At that point, I perceived and concluded as a Prophet, that you are created to “Pour out Sweet pure fragrance to this world as an apostle in the market place”.

By my opinion, you seem to have fulfilled the reason for your creation and great Grace positioned you at the top of the mountain of culture called Events and Entertainment effortlessly.

You welcomed me with hugs and kisses to the Dinner as your usual custom and treated me to a world class, lavish and exuberant hospitality. I almost asked Biodun Odunsi, sitting next to me on the high table if this is not a case of mistaken identity as the Governor of Lagos.

You paid details to attention and went beyond the normal. You came to my table Seven times. In your sweet and sonorous voice” Pastor Dotun are you OK?”  Let me know if there is anything you want? After a Seven Course Meal?

You brought my favorite food Amala and Gbegiri, you brought my favorite freshly squeezed juice pineapple and ginger and you brought caramel cookie crumble dessert. How did you know all these?

You had mastery in the school and science of honour. This one experience exceeded all.

It was a privilege to welcome me to Bashorun Dele Momodu’s wife Mobolaji’s 50th Birthday, in which I was also privileged to be one of the officiating ministers.

You were an unassuming energetic introvert who was too confident in her own power.

Three significant things about you are:

1.      You made your own calculations even though you rated actions above planning. This you demonstrated evidently in your contributions in the fight against COVID 19. It is in this journey to build isolation centres that you embarked upon and paid the ultimate sacrifice. You are our Hero. You are our Mother Theresa. You have touched God and humanity.

2.       You were very sensitive to Fragrances. You loved sweet fragrances and vibes around you. Debola Williams attested to this in his tribute. You brought an out of the box innovation of fragrances at events.

3.      You had the capacity to forgive even in difficult situations and you were benevolent.

Unforgettable that is who you are.

We will forever Miss you.

May the Holy Spirit comfort Pastor Ituah, the Children, your parents and siblings, families and friends, the Church, the Nation and the world at large.
