At Her Husband’s Installation Ceremony As Ogbeni Oja
This beautiful lady was the cynosure of all eyes, at the installation of Olorogun Dr. Sonny Folorunso Kuku as the new Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu-Ode by Alaiyeluwa Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale & paramount ruler of Ijebuland, on Saturday, 3rd February, 2024.
She looked so radiant in her all-white Aso Oke Iro & Buba done in a very stylish way. By nature, she has always been very stylish. She loves to dress well. And she knows what outfit fits her. That is why anytime you see her, she is always on point. She is blessed with a good figure that makes her complement her husband. She is got the height and the body to make her outfits sit well on her.
On that day, both of them were in snow white outfits, as is customary. The new Ogbeni Oja wore a white Agbada. He also draped on a lacy wrapper which he wrapped around his body, ending in a knot, above his shoulder, a throw back to the old fashion way that the elders and titled chiefs dress in those good old days. He also had a white cap on and a set of white shoes to complement it all. His caps always come in a unique way, always rotund shaped.
Olorogun Sonny Kuku looked immaulate in his dressing and Susan complimented him. She was beside him throughout the entire event, except when the initiation rites took place before all the VVIPCs and she had to sit beside the Ogun State deputy governor, Alhaja Noimot Oyedele.
A few times, she stood up to help her husband adjust his Agbada. Both of them arrived the venue in a Chariot, as Olorogun Dr. Sonny Kuku used to do when he comes for the annual Ojude Oba Festival.
She really looked stunning in her dressing. And she carried it well. She has Poise, Grace and Panache. She looked very polished and her smooth light skin shone. She had minimal accessories to go with her outfit, but many couldn’t ignore her set of white shoes, which added glamour to her entire outfit. She had a lovely designer glasses on, all through the event and the dainty pearls she had on her neck made her look chic. It showed her as a woman of great taste.
Many people at the ceremony commended her conducted and how cultured she was. Many do not know that she & her husband have been together for over 2 decades, since they met at an award event at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
In her Tribute to her husband, she described him as the charming, amiable, highly intelligent, but humble gentleman…who said to me at the National Theatre over 2 decades ago that “since we are going to be presenting an award together, “I might as well introduce myself. A smooth talker. We held hands, went on stage and the rest, as it is said is history.
She loves to call him My darling Hhusband. My Bestie. My Confidant. My James Brown high stepper. My Jewel and she calls herself Your loving wife.
She was so appreciative in her short tribute to Ogbeni Oja. She thanked him for teaching her what she calls, the hard lessons of life and that necessity is the mother of invention. “I love the way you love me. There are no perfect mates, but you are my perfect mate….I love you Olowo ori mi”.
