Brazil international, Philippe Coutinho who has been a subject of transfer rumors still has his future at Liverpool to be continuously debated in the newspapers and across the airwaves.
Now Joey Barton has had his say on the matter after the Reds rejected a third bid from Barcelona – believed to be in the region of £114m.
“He (Coutinho) wants out, and if you’re getting up to what are they now, almost £120m, it just looks like how much rather than if or when,” the former Manchester City midfielder tells Talksport.
“He’s not a Scouser, he’s a Brazilian. He’s already living a fair distance away from home and he’s probably grown up wanting to play for Barcelona.
“No disrespect to Liverpool, but that’s the club Brazilian youngsters grow up wanting to play for nowadays. It’s not the Liverpool of the 80s, it’s Liverpool who haven’t won a title for over 20 years, so you can’t blame the boy.”
Coutinho, a 25-year-old midfielder is yet to kick the ball this season after he was said to be nursing an injury but has also tendered a transfer request to his employer with a dream of playing for his dream club, Barcelona, who have also lost their best brain to Paris Saint-German, PSG.
